Who you are
- The ideal candidate has experience building and leading a global team, leveraging their network of contacts to build out our enterprise and partner base strategically, and has experience scaling systems and processes for a growth stage company
- The ideal candidate is results-driven, ambitious, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment
- 10+ years of direct experience in a commercial enterprise-focused role in health technology and services as an outward-facing representative of the company
- Experience leading teams, cross functionally and directly to advance commercial goals
- Proven track record of success developing strategy and growth through enterprise sales including prospecting, qualifying and closing on key business leads and targets within the health and wellness industry
- A passion for developing new business, and proof of experience breaking ground into new customer bases
- Strong leadership ability and people management skills. Holds themselves and their team accountable for hitting metrics
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills and ability to develop strong working relationships
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills. You can explain complex issues in simple terms and adapt your tone for different users
- Driven self-starter who excels in an ever-changing environment and is comfortable with ambiguity
- Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally with internal stakeholders, such as Product and Operations, and collaborate across remote, centralized, and international teams

What the job involves
- We are seeking a Director of International Commercial Growth, to unlock enterprise growth and build strategic partnerships to advance our overall reach in international markets. The initial focus will be on the European market
- This individual would be responsible for establishing the enterprise growth strategy internationally. They will be responsible for sourcing, developing, and bringing key enterprise partners to fruition to advance the growth and success of Oura
- As the Director of International Commercial Growth, you would help grow Oura by foraying into new user bases and building partnerships that focus on key pillars of growth specifically in healthcare, research, government, sports and employee wellness
- In addition, the individual will represent Oura with key leaders in the health and wellness field internationally on how Oura can help them powerfully understand their biometrics and health, and become a tool in health protocols
- This individual will be tasked with working with the vertical leaders to scale the go to market internationally. They will partner closely with our Product, Marketing, Finance, and Operations teams to better strategically reach our future Oura Ring users
- Within the first 12 months, be responsible for growing enterprise sales and revenue significantly
- Build a network of channel partners, distributors, sales agents that will unlock opportunities for Oura
- Prioritize growing awareness of the Oura brand and leverage partnerships that doubles Oura aided awareness, in deep partnership and collaboration with the marketing team
- Advance opportunities that increase the lifetime value of the Oura member base
- Represent the Oura brand when engaging with strategic partners and educate executives on Oura’s features and capabilities as a subject matter expert on the product
- Work collaboratively with the Customer Experience and Marketing teams throughout the product implementation to increase utilization of the Oura Ring to its fullest capacity
- Own and manage the contracting process with our Legal and Regulatory teams to ensure that we develop clear expectations and accountability
- Understand Oura’s market opportunities and analyze potential leads through strategy development, market segmentation, competitive analysis, and financial analysis
- Partner with cross-functional teams through all aspects of partner and business case development, product requirements, negotiation, and contracts
- Provide regular communications to the executive team on international strategy and results
- Participate in corporate development activities as needed as the company grows
Salary benchmarks
Our take
As smart watches with health and wellbeing monitoring functions are now an everyday norm, Oura is offering similar wearable technology with its series of rings. It’s one of a number of companies gaining serious traction in the market, along with the likes of Circular and Movano.
The company gained an early profile after its collaboration with Gucci which created mainstream publicity and may have given it a leg up on the competition. With the smart ring market forecast to keep growing, Oura certainly finds itself in a promising position as it moves to build out its operations and refine the product.
The bottom line for Oura will be customer satisfaction and demand, which does make its mixed reviews so far a little troubling. That said, the announcement of its new "Circles" social feature, on top of an integration with InsideTracker and acquisition of "wave to pay" company Proxy, all look set to increase the functionality of the ring and could well win more consumers over.
