Who you are

Strong JavaScript expertise and 4+ years of experience working as an engineer
Experience with Ruby or another backend language
A strong understanding of HTML and CSS
Previous work with React or another modern web application framework
Experience shipping complex and well-tested UI's
You are an effective communicator, and have experience writing code in a team setting using source control software like Git/Github
You are excited to learn from and teach other engineers, and believe in and practice continuous learning

Desirable

You have worked with distributed/remote teams
Experience deploying web apps via CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Travis, etc.)
Experience with typed JavaScript (TypeScript/Flow)
Experience with Ruby/Ruby on Rails

What the job involves

The Demand Solutions (DS) team is responsible for growing spend to Magnite supply via our Curator and Clearline product offerings
We own various parts of the engineering stack for these products including user interfaces, APIs, and our real time distributed systems responsible for ad delivery
The DS engineering team works closely with adjacent engineering, product, data science teams to design, build and execute end-to-end product features and engineering improvements
Build complex web applications using the latest tooling and JavaScript frameworks, including React, Redux, TypeScript, Webpack/Vite, and ES6+
Work with a small team of diverse engineers distributed around the world
Write well-tested, documented, and performant code
Mentor, educate, and support those around you, and receive the same from other engineers on your team
Work in an office in the heart of LA's Silicon Beach, with unlimited snacks and a daily catered lunch
Weekly professional development training to learn new technologies, frameworks, and languages

Our take

Due to the rise in mobile and smart devices in recent years, the way in which advertisement publishers must format their ads is changing. A key example of this is TV, advertisements that present immediate calls to action within a Connected TV user interface, but publishing ads in such a format is currently inaccessible to most publishers.

Magnite provides a sell-side omnichannel advertisement platform for publishers, focused on facilitating the selling of advertising on all formats including CTV, mobile, desktop, and audio. In addition to facilitating the buying and selling of omnichannel ads, the company also provides a real-time ad performance dashboard, data protection and compliance tools, and insights into buying and selling patterns.

Whilst other omnichannel advertisement platforms present significant competition to the company, Magnite stands out by providing an end-to-end marketplace for the buying, selling, management, and analysis of ads. Furthermore, by focussing its efforts on cutting-edge formats such as CTV, the company shows great potential to futureproof itself within the advertisement industry.
