Who you are
- Infrastructure and Security focused
- 2+ years of experience working in modern software development environments
- 1+ years of experience in Infrastructure and/or Security-related technical roles
- 1+ years working in a highly regulated industry in a technical capacity
- Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Strong distributed systems and architecture knowledge, specifically with AWS
- Experience with programming in JavaScript (JS), as most of our code is in JS today
- Experience and drive towards automating repetitive tasks (e.g., scripting via Bash, Python, Ruby, JS, etc.)
- Experience deploying and managing applications in containerized environments using Docker and Kubernetes
- Securing modern enterprise technologies, including containers, virtualization, cloud, secrets management, orchestration, authentication, SSO, MFA, federation in multi-cloud environments, passwordless, zero trust
- Experience with Infrastructure as code (e.g. Terraform, Cloudformation, CDK)
- Experience with Trunk-based Development practices
- Experience with CI/CD systems (e.g. Bitbucket pipelines)
- Experience with configuration management tools (e.g. Ansible, Chef)
- Knowledge of system backup procedures, disaster recovery, business continuity planning
- Effective communication skills
- Documentation, best practices
- Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without Sponsorship
- Experience with Monorepos (e.g., Turborepo)
- Fast-paced startup experience
- Experience in healthcare or finance
- Experience with a monitoring tool such as CloudWatch, Sentry or DataDog

What the job involves
- In this role, you will report to the Platform Engineering Tech Lead and work closely with the Product Leadership team
- Crucial to this position, you will be a key member of the team, working together to establish a vision for DevOps function, recommending and deploying changes to our infrastructure based on our security needs, and helping us achieve higher levels of compliance certification
- As a Platform Engineer at Scene, you will interface with all development and product teams to support and maintain key systems and work with our Operations team to manage and maintain our compliance posture
- Occasionally you will need to work with our customers either to proactively communicate security-related changes and notifications or retroactively as required
- Implement automation, effective monitoring, and infrastructure-as-code
- Deploy and maintain CI/CD pipelines across multiple environments
- Provision user access and privileges across systems and upgrade provisioning systems/methodologies
- Iterate on best practices to increase the quality & velocity of deployments
- Secure infrastructure and nodes using AWS security groups, firewall configurations, SSL/PKI, and hardening strategies
- Help operate and review SOC-related controls, policies, and procedures
- Monitor network and systems performance
- Maintain and test backups
- Assists in Disaster Recovery planning and testing

Scene Health (formerly emocha Health) partners with healthcare providers, departments, health plans, and employers to help patients adhere to medication plans. It does this by leveraging a remote team of nurses and pharmacists to deliver the CDC-recommended DOT model (Directly Observed Therapy). In short, a quick video that allows patient and practitioner to show, and ensure, that medication is taken as prescribed.

The end result is more than just waste of resources, but poorer health outcomes – especially when treating serious or chronic diseases like diabetes, tuberculosis or asthma.

The company began making big moves since its rebrand, securing major funding from an oversubscribed Series B financing round. The company is aiming to further expand its remote team of healthcare professionals to meet demand as it launches new initiatives, such as its new model of care, Panorama.
