- 3-5 years professional experience as an ML Engineer/Data Scientist and advanced degrees (M.S. or PhD. in Operations Research, Machine Learning, CS Theory and Algorithms, Computer Science with ML/AI Planning focus, Economics or related fields)
- Experience with optimization methods and reinforcement learning is a plus
- Proficient with Python, including most common ML and Optimization libraries
- Experience with SQL and GCP is a plus
- Experience with designing, building and deploying performant ML products
- Experience with unstructured data and Generative AI - especially around enterprise applications is a plus
- Familiarity with process improvement and exploratory techniques (e.g. design of experiments and optimization)
- Enthusiasm to own projects end-to-end; from experimentation to customer delivery
What the job involves
- As an ML Engineer focused on Optimization, you will be responsible for developing and implementing models and algorithms to drive real-time recommendations for manufacturing process optimization using data collected within Oden’s factory cloud
- Your work will be used to enhance Oden’s flagship product, Process AI, which supports manufacturing operations teams with real-time decision making
- As part of developing these algorithms, you will explore manufacturing data including real-time process measurements; context about this data collected from external systems; outcomes such as quality/cost/yield; and knowledge about the process from structured and unstructured sources
- You will be required to apply a variety of technical methodologies to address the recommendation problem
- These will include combinations of multi-objective and multi-constraint optimization techniques; reinforcement learning and other learning based approaches; and knowledge based approaches that combine physical models with domain information
- Ou will work closely with Oden’s Product team to build these algorithms into Oden’s Process AI offering, and are expected to participate in the end-to-end engineering, carrying projects from conceptualization to development to deployment
- Developing and validating models, algorithms, and methods that drive real-time process optimization recommendations
- Collaborating with the Product team to understand and pose relevant problems related to Process AI recommendations
- Working with the engineering team to Implement and deploy solutions
- Validating results in real-world deployments with our customers
- Generalizing solutions and innovating to create the next generation of product features
- Engaging with the technical community to present results externally, keep up to date on recent advances, and advance the state of the art
