Company mission

To decarbonise the most difficult buildings in the Global North with AI-generated digital twins and smart devices.

Role

Who you are

  • 3+ years of experience in mobile app development, with a portfolio showcasing your work on iOS and Android applications
  • Proficiency with (or eager to learn) cross platform mobile development frameworks such as React Native, Flutter, or similar
  • Experience with responsive design and a strong understanding of UX/UI best practices
  • Familiarity with backend integration and working with APIs
  • A genuine passion for sustainability and a desire to contribute to the home heating industry's transformation

What the job involves

  • Develop and maintain the Adia Thermal mobile application, ensuring excellent performance and a seamless user experience on both iOS and Android devices

  • Lead the development of interactive data dashboards on mobile, providing our installer partners with real-time insights and tools for improved heat pump installations
  • Build features that streamline the heat pump installation process, empowering installers with the tools they need for quicker, more efficient installations
  • Develop intuitive controls for homeowners to manage their heating systems, enhancing both comfort and energy efficiency
  • Work with backend engineers to integrate APIs and ensure smooth communication between the mobile app and our systems
  • From time to time, contribute to backend development when needed. This isn’t a pure front-end role—everyone pitches in to ensure the product's success
  • Ensure the mobile app is responsive, reliable, and performs well across different scenarios
  • Carry out thorough testing, troubleshooting, and debugging to maintain a high standard of quality
  • Stay updated with the latest trends in mobile development and suggest improvements where appropriate

Our take

A transition to a decarbonized energy future is vital if the world is to avoid climate disaster, but adapting existing infrastructure is a complex and costly undertaking. Adia is addressing this, by leveraging AI-generated digital twins and smart devices to support the transition even for the most difficult buildings.

By using digital twins, which are digital models of real-world objects, the company will enable the faster assessment of how decarbonization plans will work for specific buildings. This should empower more effective projects to be undertaken, which are backed up by the confidence of rigorous simulation and testing.

Adia's first product, Adia Thermal, on which it is currently focussed, is designed to enable rapid and low cost heat pump installations for the mass market. As the company is addressing a very present problem, there is certainly promise for its future, so long as its offering stands up to its mission.
