Role
Who you are
- At least ten years of total experience, with recent hands-on experience writing production level code (Python (preferred) / Java / C++ / Go)
- At least 3 years of experience managing software development teams with hands-on involvement in system architecture, design and performance
- Expertise in relational databases, such as PostgreSQL
- Experience with Django or with a similar web framework
- Expertise in a cloud platform such as AWS (preferred), GCP, Azure

What the job involves
- We are looking for an Engineering Manager who can balance both technical contributions (read: write code) and people management
- In this role, you will partner closely with engineering leadership to drive the overall technical direction of the Beta Workflows team over our next phase of growth
- You’ll get to work cross-functionally to support the launch of new products and features by building out the data architecture that informs and drives insights at Stellar

- Your mission will be to provide Stellar with cutting-edge, reliable, and easy-to-use infrastructure for ingesting, storing, processing, and extracting valuable insights from data in order to enable downstream users to be successful
- The team is tight-knit with high ownership, so your work will have a meaningful impact on our ability to directly improve patient access to health care
- The Beta Workflows team works on unlocking and accelerating Stellar Health adoption in large Medical Groups. These Medical Groups have unique challenges - from deploying Stellar across multiple Office Locations, to addressing more enterprise level needs that speak not just to the Staff on the ground, but also to Leadership roles in these organizations
- On this team, you’ll build and manage novel EHR integrated workflows. You will improve the Stellar Application to be more targeted to specific User Roles, and build features that target specific roles that are needed in these larger Medical Groups
- Key highlights and technical challenges of this team:
- Directly contribute to the company bottom line by being directly responsible for improving the workflows of our largest Medical Groups
- Own the build and delivery of software to our largest medical groups, covering more than 600k patients
- Develop, discover and iterate on workflows that rely on writing data to EHRs
- Improve our ability to manage large Patient Panels across multiple offices
- Build a Role Based Access system that personalizes the Application to specific User Roles, and delivers a personalized experience to each role
- Own the technical direction and impact of the Beta Workflows team. You’ll be responsible for its capabilities, quality and capacity
- Manage and grow the team. Actively participate in the recruiting and retention of team members
- Write production quality code and provide effective and constructive feedback by reviewing others’ designs and work
- Set consistent standards for code; testing and fixing bugs throughout the process and managing your team to do the same
- Contribute to Stellar’s Engineering Culture. Participate in x-org technical and leadership forums to create a high performing organization
- Work with senior engineering and product leaders in aligning on product roadmaps, specifications, and priorities
Our take
A problem in healthcare is little thought is given to the doctors and staff who coordinate all of the daily patient workflow, such as historical claims, pharmacy requests, lab work, testing and billing. Stellar Health aims to drastically reduce these 'chores' through a cloud-based platform on which primary care providers can offer value-based care through real-time information updates about patients.
The point-of-care workflow platform also strives to close the incentive gap between payors and care providers by helping practitioners earn more revenue for keeping patients healthy, rather than simply charging for procedures and treatments. While Stellar Health faces stiff competition from major players such as Siemens Healthcare and AthenaHealth, it has already made great ground in the market with over 1.1M patients across 37 states.
The company has secured significant investment from Primary Venture Partners and Point 72. This funding and its growing revenue are being put towards further scaling its operations and accelerating its product development. Operating in a rapidly growing industry which reached a value of over $4 billion in 2025, Stellar Health is in a good position for future growth and success.
