Who you are
- Strong interest (obsession) in the crypto industry, and desire to get involved both inside and outside of the office
- Customer obsessed and process obsessed
- A minimum of 3-5+ years experience in account management, sales or business development at a professional services, technology, or finance/fintech company. Crypto experience preferred
- Collaborative and motivated mindset. Willingness to work in a fun, high-paced, team environment
- Strong communication skills with the ability to articulate, present, and debate complex problems with all levels of management
- Demonstrable ability to listen attentively and communicate ideas to both internal and external stakeholders
- Exceptionally personable and comfortable being the face of Messari on the phone, on video calls, and at industry events
- Self-starter who can take loose instruction, and lead the process and deliverables from start to finish
- Experience with CRM software (Salesforce)
What the job involves
- We’re looking to hire a highly motivated Senior Account Manager to help onboard, manage, and foster relationships with project teams for Messari Protocol Services. This individual will also play a key role in codifying our Account Management org and ensuring processes are in place and executed upon. This position will play a leading role in ensuring smooth onboarding experiences, execution of client deliverables, and identifying expansion opportunities within our top customers. . This will entail working closely with protocol’s core teams and foundations to understand critical needs and help ideate for new solutions
- This will be a highly client-facing role while also working actively cross-functionally with research, sales, ops, and product teams to help deliver on core reporting services. There will be opportunities to identify new client needs and develop strategic plans to utilize resources to fulfill them
- The ideal candidate should have a strong interest and knowledge of the crypto industry with previous experience working with protocol teams or engaging with decentralized communities forums
- We’re looking for someone comfortable managing 20-30 relationships with leading builders in the space, is client-obsessed, and always looking to improve overall satisfaction by going above and beyond the core requirements. This individual must possess both high EQ and customer first principles while also being able to put systems in place and manage complex, time sensitive projects
- Serve as the lead point of contact for select customer relationships
- Run and execute Account Management playbook
- Keep clients abreast of Messari Enterprise and Mainnet conference opportunities to grow accounts
- Help facilitate research deliverables for Protocol Services
- Build and maintain strong, long-lasting client relationships, keeping track of client feedback, and recommending process and product improvements
- Clearly communicate the progress of initiatives to internal and external stakeholders
- Assist with challenging client requests or issue escalations as needed
- Engage with protocol communities
Our take
Interest and participation in the crypto space from institutions and individuals alike has snowballed over recent years. What hasn’t kept pace, at least not yet, is the quality and accessibility of research and analysis tools. Messari has stepped in to fill that breach, providing tools and market intelligence for professionals, builders, and communities looking to confidently navigate web3.
In 2022, Messari launched a platform facilitating engagement in various crypto DAOs, just as these collectives are beginning to slide into the mainstream spotlight and gather real momentum and influence. Historically, DAOs have proven logistically or conceptually complex to engage with, so Messari is taking important steps here to democratize access.
Maintaining this pace could prove tough, but the company is investing into the rapid expansion of its engineering and research teams to stay ahead. This, bolstered by impressive investor support and a client list that already includes key players like Coinbase, BlockTower, and Gemini, should see Messari’s critical web3 work continue to make big waves.
