Role
Who you are
- 3-5+ years of professional software engineering experience, with a track record of shipping production-quality full-stack features
- Proficiency across the full stack—comfortable in TypeScript/React on the frontend and Go (or similar) on the backend
- Experience building data-focused products such as experimentation platforms, analytics dashboards, or large-scale data visualizations
- Proficient in designing, implementing, and maintaining RESTful APIs
- Experience working directly with customers and understands how their work impacts business goals
- Strong sense of ownership and accountability for delivering impactful solutions
- Proven ability to work closely and collaborate with cross functional partners, like product, design, and data scientists
- Demonstrated ability to write clean, well-documented, and testable code with a focus on maintainability and extensibility
- Strong understanding of observability and monitoring tools and practices
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills

- Our mission is to redefine how software is released: automating release processes, measuring the real-time impact of feature rollouts, and simplifying debugging when things go wrong
- From automated release pipelines to metrics monitoring, error tracking, and fully automated rollbacks, our work ensures every code change is measured, and the entire release process from rollout to issue mitigation is managed for maximum efficiency and reliability
- We are solving critical challenges in modern software delivery: reducing the time it takes to detect regressions, automating responses to minimize risk, and eliminating manual effort
- We extensively use the products we build, allowing us to create our own ideal release process while shaping the developer experience for teams across the industry

- Collaborate seamlessly with cross-functional partners (product, design, data science, and engineering) to architect and advance our observability products. Leverage your broad experience to facilitate strategic discussions that align technical solutions with business goals, ensuring the delivery of scalable and effective features
- Drive comprehensive end-to-end feature development, taking full ownership from proof of concept through to delivery. Ensure that each feature provides robust observability into system behavior and customer usage patterns post-launch, applying a deep understanding of both technical and user experience considerations to optimize feature performance and reliability
- Proactively identify opportunities for product and user experience improvements, leveraging data insights and feedback to propose innovative, well-reasoned solutions. Lead the implementation of these enhancements, balancing user needs, business goals, and technical feasibility, ensuring each change drives meaningful improvements in engagement and performance
- Actively lead and contribute to code reviews, spec reviews, and architecture design, ensuring alignment with best practices, long-term scalability, and maintainability. Your experience will drive thorough and thoughtful evaluation of solutions, while providing constructive feedback that elevates the quality of the codebase
- Stay at the forefront of development trends, experimentation, and data-driven product evolution, bringing deep expertise to suggest and implement forward-thinking improvements in tools, processes, and methodologies. Your proactive involvement in continuous learning and improvement will help ensure the team remains competitive and cutting-edge in its approach to building user-focused products

Our take
Feature flags are a powerful software development tool, allowing teams to modify system behavior without changing code, therefore minimizing risk. If a business has a new feature they want to test, they can then roll it out to a small set of users before letting it go live. These companies can, for example, get quick feedback on the new feature and fix any bugs, or roll back any changes.
LaunchDarkly allows companies to run tests like this by activating the new code for only a small set of users prior to launch. Typically running these tests requires lots of developer time - a daunting and expensive prospect for most rapidly growing businesses - and can risk disruption to the user experience if testing takes place on the live product.
Demonstrating its value to businesses, the platform is used by the likes of IBM, Intuit and Atlassian. Recently it has seemed to focus on further scaling its growth as it develops towards being a leading business in the feature management space.
