Who you are
- You are a motivated and energetic person who would thrive in a fintech startup environment like ours

- The ideal candidate will be someone who has helped launch a new product to a new market, someone with events marketing experience and partnership development
- Candidates must be based in New York
- Having a strong network in the African, New York diaspora will be a plus
- Experience organising marketing events is desirable
What the job involves
- Source for community events in New York: attend and sign on new users on the LemFi app
- Regularly source temporary workers for each event
- Introduce LemFi to key stakeholders in the city, e.g. MCs, DJs, caterers, and event organisers
- Source for marketing materials like flyers, roll-up banners, shirts, etc
- Set up activations at relevant stores and restaurants in the city
- Carry out partnerships and activations in African and other majority churches in the city
- Be the face of LemFi in the city
- Get LemFi into community-focused WhatsApp groups, Facebook groups, etc
- The goal for this role is to grow our reach in the USA, particularly Africans. To drive activations and other engagements that would lead to an increase in new users signed up and transacting in the USA

LemFi, previously known as Lemonade Finance, is a fintech platform addressing the challenge of accessing reliable financial services faced by millions of immigrants worldwide. By offering quick onboarding and a multi-currency offering, LemFi allows its users to send, receive, hold, convert, and save in both their country of origin and residence currencies.
Recognising the limitations faced by traditional banks and neo-banks, LemFi offers instant international transfers at favourable exchange rates with no transfer fees. Initially launched in Canada, growing demand for the company's services has allowed it to expand to the UK, and broaden its African payment channels.
The company has secured good funding from prominent investors like Y-Combinator, Zrosk, Global Founders Capital, and Olive Tree. With plans to expand its product offering across the globe, LemFi will further its mission of providing accessible and transparent financial services to migrant communities worldwide.
