Role
Who you are
- Full-stack/backend experience, particularly in Node/Express, or know additional languages beyond TypeScript
- Comfort with TypeScript, HTML, and CSS, and knowledge of at least one modern frontend framework (e.g. Vue)
- Demonstrated experience in owning production features from start to finish (and beyond), and collaborating with others on your team, the rest of the engineering team, and the rest of the business to make a project happen
- A well-honed ability to dive into a codebase, understand it, improve it, and build on top of it
- Demonstrated experience in helping less-experienced engineers level up their understanding of and approach to development, and helping the entire team level up their tools and tactics
- An understanding of the balance between perfection and shipping quickly, and always remaining open to discussion and new ideas

- Lithic is hiring a Senior Full Stack Engineer to work cross functionally with product, and design to build user experiences that make the complicated world of payments safe, easy, and even enjoyable
- You'll have the chance to work on a multitude of interesting challenges across our customer and bank portals

- Building new features and improving existing features throughout Lithic’s product - focused on our customer and bank dashboard
- Working with other engineers through thoughtful code reviews, pairing, and other methods
- Building up best practices and improving the codebase to help us keep scaling as a business and as a team while maintaining a high bar of code quality
Our take
Lithic has developed a fast and simple card-issuing API that allows developers to create and monitor payment cards - physical and virtual - and the transactions that take place on them. Its expanding list of use cases includes on-demand services, vertical SaaS, and alternative lending, meaning its product spans a promising and exciting remit of growing sectors.
Lithic began as Privacy.com, helping customers keep their transactions private and secure through generating disposable, virtual payment card numbers. The significant uptake prompted a pivot of service to corporate customers and the card-issuing API (although Privacy.com continues as a subsidiary), and this savvy strategy has seen notable success as the appetite for fintech solutions continues to grow.
The company has raised impressive rounds of funding to continue developing its platform and its B2B direction. It will need this to keep its edge over larger competitors like Galileo and Marqueta - that is, to maintain its more modern infrastructure, and therefore its appealingly agile functionality for its early-stage startup customers.
