Role
Who you are
- Fluent in German and English, both verbal and written communication
- Ability to translate copy from English into German to a high standard
- Excellent copywriting and content creation skills
- Understanding of how brand guidelines influence the copy you create, including tone of voice
- Understanding of how to adapt copy to a range of platforms e.g. email and social media
- Understanding of how content can be used to communicate customer service issues effectively
- A team player who can work well with teams in the office and remotely
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to work to tight deadlines and prioritise different projects effectively
- Strong research skills
Desirable
- Experience using platforms such as Braze, Twilio or similar to create email and push campaigns, as well as segmentation using custom data
- Experience using analytics platforms such as Looker or Tableau to monitor performance, and make data-led decisions regarding future campaigns
- Experience creating brand content
- Knowledge and understanding of the travel sector
- Good understanding of how SEO influences onsite content
- Good understanding of social media
What the job involves
- As a German speaking content executive at loveholidays you’ll play a key role in our ambition to become Europe’s leading online travel agent
- Working in our international content team, you’ll ensure our English content is translated seamlessly into the German language
- You’ll be comfortable using a range of AI powered tools to steer our translation at scale and curating content from scratch
- You’ll be the guardian of our tone of voice in Germany and play a central role in ensuring our brand personality resonates well with our German customers
- Reviewing and editing copy translated from English to German to fit brand guidelines and tone of voice
- Creating user centric content that helps resolves user issues and customer service queries
- Working across the marketing team to curate content for email, push, social and brand activities in Germany
- Working with wider stakeholders to plan and deliver content that supports the wider business

Our take
Travel, both domestic and overseas, has been a huge part of the British economy since the late 20th century. In 2019, UK residents spent £43 billion on foreign holidays - almost double the amount spent a decade before.
Despite travel companies suffering considerable reputation damage back in 2020, as they struggled to refund customers whose booked holidays were suddenly cancelled, the appeal of companies like loveholidays to holidaymakers will undoubtedly endure seeing as they make the process of booking holidays much easier.
In the nearest future, loveholidays will need to focus on maintaining its reputation, especially given the wide array of direct competitors who could steal market share. At present, however, loveholidays is still one of the fastest growing online travel agents. If it can keep up the practices which have brought it success over the past 10 years, loveholidays is still in a good position to keep its growth strong for few years to come.
