Role
Who you are
- Experience & Skills: 3–5 years in an analyst and/or data engineering role, covering data investigation, analysis (dashboards), ingestion (ETL pipelines), and storytelling, with strong stakeholder management
- Proven ability to handle complex datasets, conduct risk-mitigating analyses, and translate insights into actionable recommendations
- Technical Proficiency: Advanced SQL skills and experience with DBT, BigQuery, and Looker (or equivalents); Python proficiency is a plus
- Comfortable with Git workflows, and exposure to metaprogramming is beneficial
- Mindset & Collaboration: A builder’s mindset with a proactive approach to problem-solving and challenging assumptions
- Strong communication skills to present findings clearly and drive measurable impact
- Proven ability to manage projects independently, prioritize tasks, and collaborate across hybrid teams
- Industry Knowledge: Fintech experience is a plus; a strong interest in financial systems and data-driven decision-making is essential
What the job involves
- Analyze complex datasets to uncover key trends and insights that support all verticals across the COO Area
- Provide actionable recommendations through in-depth analysis, custom reports, and data visualizations
- Enable informed decision-making and help drive a competitive edge with data-driven strategies
- Ensure data availability and consistency by contributing to data architecture projects
- Work with tools like DBT, BigQuery, and Looker, focusing on data quality and integrity
- Build scalable data models that empower business decisions and future growth
- Partner with developers, product managers, operators, and the COO Strategy team to integrate data-driven insights into our B2B products and services
- Bridge the gap between data and strategy, enabling teams to optimize performance and drive continuous improvement
- Work on projects that directly shape the success of our financial API offerings
- Use data-driven insights to improve client experience, optimize middle- and back-office operations, and enhance vendor management
- Play a key role in driving business growth through data-informed decision-making
- Tackle a wide range of data-related tasks, focusing on thoughtful data modeling rather than simple extraction
- Apply advanced analytics and visualization techniques to derive meaningful insights
- Work on dynamic projects that continuously refine your analytical expertise

Our take
Upvest is a fintech startup that empowers financial services companies to provide their customers with access to a full range of financial assets, including stocks, ETFs and crypto products. Upvest's investment API integrates seamlessly with its customers existing systems and is designed to scale easily, freeing companies from the need to develop their own brokerage and custody infrastructure from scratch.
As one of the few companies in Germany that is licensed for both the custody of traditional securities and crypto, Upvest is able to provide its services across Europe. Its solution has been readily adopted by some major players in the space including Ginmon, Vivid and ABN AMRO.
Upvest is backed by a number of Europe's largest tech VCs (Earlybird, Notion Capital, Partech, HV Capital, ABN AMRO Ventures) alongside American investment monolith BlackRock. In 2023 it closed a VC investment round which the company has claimed is one of the largest in the German fintech arena. Its impressive capital raise will go some way to achieving Upvest's goals of profitability as it expands into the US market.
