Who you are
- You are structured, can organise yourself in a remote or hybrid work setup, take ownership and execute projects swiftly

What the job involves
- As associate to the Engineering team you will support members of the Engineering Leadership team, incl. Juha Ristolainen, CTO & Co-founder, and Katja Sommer, Chief of Staff to the CTO on a variety of topics that span across the entire engineering organisation
- Specifically, you will prepare department wide meetings and knowledge sharing formats, help with audits, and operational excellence topics
- By having a high level of exposure to the engineering leadership team at a fast-growing company, you will develop a strong understanding of the company and deep ownership of some vertical topics. Navigating diverse deadlines makes each day unique
- Engineering Team Support: Support the engineering organisation in operational efficiency and engineering compliance topics, such as adherence to our Secure Software Development Life Cycle
- Engineering Leadership Support: Provide hands-on support for our Engineering Leadership Team, incl. CTO (e.g. preparing all-hands meetings, offsites, etc.)
- Presentation and Material Preparation: Prepare presentations and materials for the engineering organisation
- Process and Best-Practices Development: Support processes and best practices to help our organisation mature
- OKR Process and Operational Excellence: Support the Chief of Staff in the OKR process and operational excellence topics
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate cross-functionally, supporting the team with internal stakeholders

Upvest is a fintech startup that empowers financial services companies to provide their customers with access to a full range of financial assets, including stocks, ETFs and crypto products. Upvest's investment API integrates seamlessly with its customers existing systems and is designed to scale easily, freeing companies from the need to develop their own brokerage and custody infrastructure from scratch.
As one of the few companies in Germany that is licensed for both the custody of traditional securities and crypto, Upvest is able to provide its services across Europe. Its solution has been readily adopted by some major players in the space including Ginmon, Vivid and ABN AMRO.
Upvest is backed by a number of Europe's largest tech VCs (Earlybird, Notion Capital, Partech, HV Capital, ABN AMRO Ventures) alongside American investment monolith BlackRock. In 2023, it closed a VC investment round, which the company has claimed is one of the largest in the German fintech arena. This was followed up by an impressive Series C at the end of 2024, which is being used to grow its team, enhance its product and cement its presence in the UK.
