Role
Who you are
- Autonomy: You have the ability to lead all the development cycle from the idea to the production, with all the implications that this means
- Technical Proficiency: You are a master with OOP languages (.NET/C#) and relational databases are necessary. You should also be comfortable working with SQL and, ideally NoSQL databases
- Quality-Driven: You value good programming practices (Testing, DDD, Refactoring, Clean Code and other XP practices), recognize the appliance of different test types depending on the business needs, and strive to optimize code for quality, complexity, and efficiency
- Architectural Acumen: You're capable of designing complex functionalities within a scalable architecture
- Communication Skills: You can effectively communicate in both spoken and written English
- Distributed Systems: You are used to working with scalable distributed cloud systems
- Message Queue System: You know how to work with message queue systems (like Azure queues or RabbitMQ)
- Observability: You add metrics and monitoring to understand the impact of the code that you are creating. You create dashboards to help others to understand how the system is behaving
- Business Acumen: A genuine interest in understanding the business side of things shows that you're invested in the bigger picture
What the job involves
- We are looking for a Senior .Net Backend Developer to join us and contribute to the development of our SaaS product. Our goal is to help doctors in their daily practice, make their work more efficient, so they can provide a better and more human experience to patients
- Our SaaS solution is a core product of the company, widely used across 13 countries and managing millions of medical appointments. Operating at such a large scale presents exciting technical challenges that require deep expertise in technical skills and also a Product mindset
- You will be part of an autonomous product team formed by Frontend and Backend Developers, a Product Manager, an Engineering Manager, and other supporting product roles such as Designer, Researcher, Product Analyst, and QA Engineer

- We are looking for a Senior Product Developer, not a ticket solver. We expect you to help us understand our user problems, design solutions, and implement them with the high quality our big-scale product deserves

Our take
Healthcare platform Docplanner has become a major player in the European healthtech market in the decade since it was founded. The company offers a suite of administrative tools for 30M patients and around 2M doctors worldwide, including workflow digitisation and appointment booking services. The company currently operate in 13 countries, hit Unicorn status in 2021, and has been riding a recent wave of digital transformation and workforce overburdening in the healthcare sector which has spurred on demand for precisely the kind of services they provide. So it’s safe to say business is going well.
What is most compelling about Docplanner’s business journey has been its long-brewing competition with their direct competitor, the fellow Unicorn and better-funded Doctolib. The tête-à-tête with this French/German rival has seen both parties making aggressive European expansion with national acquisitions - Doctolib in Italy, France, and Germany; Docplanner in Turkey, Poland, Spain, and Latin America. With Docplanner’s 2021 acquisition of German parallel platform Jameda, however, they are making moves on Doctolib’s home turf. The company has also acquired MyDr, a leading Polsih tech solutions provider.
These broad consolidation moves represent a maturation of the healthtech market which will serve both competitors well. Docplanner is certainly a key and aggressive contender in this race - and this company isn't going anywhere any time soon.
