Who you are
- The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly analytical, and knowledgeable across a range of accounting topics
- CPA required; public accounting experience strongly preferred
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a similar capacity at a fast-growing company
- Deep understanding of US GAAP and technical accounting
- Analytical and detail-oriented with a track record of streamlining processes and close cycles
- Proficiency with ERP and reporting systems - experience implementing or optimizing NetSuite a plus
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively remotely
What the job involves
- We are seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to oversee and manage our monthly/quarterly close, technical accounting, and financial reporting
- The Accounting Manager will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy of our financial statements and building scalable, automated processes
- Prepare and review key monthly close deliverables including journal entries, account reconciliations, and variances analyses, ensuring compliance with US GAAP
- Research and document technical accounting concepts, including guidance on new accounting standards and complex transactions across revenue, capitalized software, equity, leases, and other ad hoc transactions
- Build and implement scalable accounting systems, processes and workflows, leveraging a tech-first mindset to utilize AI and automation to drive efficiency
- Establish, document, and perform internal controls and accounting policies
- Support external audits, including coordinating with external auditors and preparation of audit materials
- Collaborate cross-functionally with stakeholders in FP&A, Legal, IT, People Ops, and other business units

Chainguard exists to build security into the coding supply chain by making it possible for companies to enforce security policies based on auditable signatures baked into the code.
In the wake of huge cyber attacks, software supply chain security has been an area of major focus. However, most of this has surrounded the scanning and detection of threats. Chainguard's approach comes from the other end of the process, focusing on building security into the software itself.
Built by former engineers who are aware of developer workloads, Chainguard is designed to be easily installed and integrated into existing automation systems. The company has secured substantial funding, the latest of which will support more aggressive product and R&D spending as it looks to further boost sales.
