What the job involves
- Ensure smooth daily office operations, including managing supplies, welcoming guests and ensuring general upkeep
- Liaise, negotiate and manage relationships with suppliers, vendors and contractors
- Ensure all investors/partners/clients/candidates have great experiences onsite
- Support in coordination of all onboarding & offboarding processes
- Act as main point of contact for employees regarding office matters, benefits, and general inquiries
- Assist foreign Dioxyclers with settling in France and day to day problems they encounter (this sometimes involves helping them call French administration/banks/insurance companies, etc)
- Organize team-building activities (once per month in Paris and in San Francisco), lunches/breakfasts and annual team seminar
- Support Director of People in recruitment activities, including sourcing of candidates, scheduling interviews, screening junior candidates
Application process

- 60-min online workshop including a presentation of your career, skillset, followed by questions, case studies with our team
- A final on-site series of interviews and opportunity to meet the team & have a tour of the lab/facility
- A series of reference calls with provided contacts
Our take
Ethylene is an important product used in many manufacturing processes, from PVC pipes to clothing to cars. As the world's most highly produced organic compound, it contributes significantly to carbon emissions. Dioxcycle aims to address this problem with a catalytic process that converts carbon trapped during manufacturing into ethylene using water and electricity. Producers that use ethylene in their manufacturing process can use their own carbon emissions as a supply of the chemical, reducing both their carbon emissions and the emissions involved in producing ethylene through traditional methods.
While there is a bright future in technologies that allow manufacturers to produce materials from their carbon emissions, cost is likely to prove a major challenge for Dioxycle. Regardless of green credentials, producers will be looking for value for money in sourcing materials, and high energy costs are a major expense in Dioxycle's process. However, the company has produced several proofs of concept since the company's founding, each more efficient than the last, and funding will be used in the construction of an industrial prototype showcasing the company’s efficiency.
Going forward, the company hopes to be able to take advantage of environmental tax credits for sustainable technology, providing a green credit to companies using its processes that offset the increased energy use. As climate change approaches a tipping point, Dioxycle is likely to play an important role in reducing industrial emissions in the manufacturing process, as well as providing a major source of a widely used manufacturing material.
