CRM Data Engineer, Spotlight Sports Group

• Hands-on experience with Segment (or a comparable CDP such as RudderStack or mParticle), configuring sources, destinations and tracking plans
• Hands-on experience with Braze (or a comparable engagement platform such as Iterable, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, or Klaviyo), including audience/segment building and journeys or canvases
• Strong SQL skills and comfort working directly with customer and event data models
• Demonstrable experience with data hygiene practices - deduplication, validation, standardisation, and consent management
• Experience with ETL/reverse-ETL concepts and troubleshooting data pipeline issues
• Ability to work independently as a contractor, defining and driving own workstreams with light-touch line management
• Strong communication skills, with the confidence to work directly with marketing stakeholders without losing data rigour

• This CRM / MarTech Data Specialist role sits within our Data Intelligence function and is focused on data hygiene, audience creation, and platform integration work between our incumbent Customer Data Platform (CDP), Segment, and our incumbent CRM tool, Braze
• The role is responsible for ensuring our CRM and marketing data is clean, well-governed, and reliably flowing between the two platforms, so that CRM, Product, and Commercial teams can build and target audiences with confidence
• This role is particularly well suited to someone who enjoys hands-on data pipeline work, is comfortable operating at the intersection of data and marketing, and wants to bring rigour and structure to a fast-moving CRM function
• An interest in CRM and lifecycle marketing is helpful for context, but data hygiene discipline and technical rigour are essential
• Data Hygiene & Governance: Own day-to-day data quality across CRM/marketing data - deduplication, validation, and standardisation of customer records and event data, and define hygiene rules and taxonomy in partnership with the Data team
• Audience Creation: Build, test and maintain customer audiences and segments for use in Braze campaigns and journeys, translating CRM/Marketing targeting requirements into technical audience logic
• Platform Integration: Manage the data flow (ETL/reverse-ETL) between Segment and Braze, configuring sources, destinations and tracking plans, and troubleshooting sync issues as they arise
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Act as the day-to-day data point of contact for the CRM/Marketing team, shaping requirements and ensuring practices stay consistent with wider Data function standards
• Documentation & Compliance: Document data flows, mappings and standard operating procedures so the work is maintainable beyond the contract term, and ensure data handling complies with consent and data protection requirements (e.g. GDPR)
• Reporting & Escalation: Provide regular updates to the Data Director and wider CRM function on data hygiene status, integration health, and any risks or blockers
