Role
Who you are
- Advanced hands-on knowledge and experience of data manipulation using SQL and Excel
- Proven problem solving skills, project management, attention to detail, and exceptional organizational skills
- Proven analytical and quantitative skills and an ability to use hard data and metrics to back up assumptions and develop business cases
- Familiar with data science techniques (advantage)
- Experience with programming languages such as Python
- Working knowledge of Tableau or another visualisation tool (PowerBI, Microstrategy, Qlik etc.)
- Ability to operate in an agile way, in a fast-paced and ambiguous environment
- You are happy to be humble, open to new ways of working and to seeking guidance, but you take ownership and are driven by quality in every single thing you do
- Confident dealing with and resolving complex queries and quantitative business investigations supported by data
- Demonstrated ability to operate both strategically and tactically in a high-energy environment
- Sharing feedback in all directions - up, down, and sideways. Ability and comfort in constructively reviewing current methods and service delivery strategy
- Self-motivated and ability to work with minimal supervision
- Ability to stay positive and motivate everyone around you
- 4+ years of relevant experience in a business analyst / data analyst / insight analyst /statistical analysis role
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to translate key insights from complex analyses into actionable business insights
- Excellent business judgment, strong written and oral communication skills, and a pragmatic approach to getting things done
- Project management - demonstrated full ownership of managing and implementing both technical and non-technical projects
- Preferably a degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, Computer Science, Economics or Business
What the job involves
- As a Senior Business Analyst your purpose will be to analyse and interpret complex data, develop insights that drive business decisions and communicate these to stakeholders effectively
- Your curiosity and expertise in SQL and data visualisation will help provide visibility to stakeholders within the business through reports and dashboards
- This role will involve working closely with various areas of the business such as sales & account managers, customer experience, finance, marketing & marketplace
- Manage and execute analytical projects from start to finish including data gathering and manipulation, synthesis and modeling, problem solving, and communication of insights and recommendations to senior management
- Develop models for evaluation and implementation of new strategies with business stakeholders such as analysing impact of marketing activities and providing directions for growth
- Conduct deep-dives and apply data science techniques to gain a better understanding of the problems we face, recommend actions and build tools which enable business users to be proactive
- Day-to-day operational reporting and data visualisation. Reports should be statistically rigorous and compellingly relevant; providing insight into program health and recommending action plans
- Improve data quality and ingestion by identifying and flagging anomalies to the data team

- Hiring Manager (45min video call) - Ram Haria will be taking this interview and will be asking more in depth questions in relation to your work and analytical experience
- Online Zoom Task (20-30mins) - Here you will have the chance to show your technical skills - the hiring manager will share his screen with an example of a table structure on our database - you will be asked questions based on what is on the screen and then you will have time to answer - you will be told on the call your score and we will also let you know if you got any questions wrong and explain how to answer them
- Focused and Values (1hr video call) - Here you will have a video call with 1 person from the team, as well as someone else in the business for the values part of the interview - they will be asking questions around competencies for the role and value based questions
