Who you are
- Bachelor’s degree, M.B.A. preferred, with 6+ years of experience in growth marketing and managing a high-performing team
- Demonstrated success and extensive experience in building & growing successful influencer marketing programs with a performance-first approach
- Growth-oriented and analytical; comfortable with modeling and key performance marketing metrics, incl. CAC, ROI, and LTV analysis
- Strong knowledge of Excel, Looker, and Google Analytics. SQL knowledge or other analytics and business intelligence tools are a plus
- Experience using influencer CRM tools is a plus
- Deep customer acquisition experience in a digital brand in a fast-growth environment and at scale
- No challenge is too big or small. You’re an executor and can go deep into the details, but equally able to drive big-picture strategy
- Possess a strong understanding of consumer mindset, empathy, and dedication to great consumer experiences
- Collaborate well across teams in a fast-paced, competitive environment
- You have exceptional written and communication skills and can keep large teams aligned and informed
- You keep up to date on the latest marketing tech developments, platform innovations, and industry trends
What the job involves
- We are seeking a Senior Manager, Influencer Marketing, to run our social proof marketing program. In this role, you’ll oversee the strategy, results, and talented team responsible for our creator program
- Develop and execute a robust creator strategy to drive new customer acquisition and brand awareness, achieving an efficient CAC and amplifying key brand messaging and moments
- Oversee outreach to and management of influencers, including intake experience, the application process, contract and deliverable management, and overall thoughtful social media program management
- Reverse engineer virality by originating influencer campaign concepts that earn shares beyond the paid spend
- Implement a robust ‘Test & Learn’ strategy to understand creator incentive and reward models and output requirements by creator tier
- Develop an operational plan to source thousands of new creators, grow the community nationally, and engage micro-communities across key markets, interests, and life stages
- Build the overarching program infrastructure, including program brand identity and messaging, rules of engagement, toolkits, etc
- Build a robust creator content pipeline to be leveraged across other channels and funnel touchpoints at scale (including. paid social, email, site. etc.)
- Partner with cross-functional teams to integrate community features into Product roadmaps
- Manage and mentor 3-5 high-performing individuals to achieve your team’s goals
Our take
Rent the Runway seeks to profit from two important trends in apparel consumption: wanting to stay on top of the latest fashion trends while living and purchasing sustainably. By providing a platform for women to rent designer pieces, its users can have it all.
The company allows users to rent, subscribe, or buy designer apparel and accessories. It achieves this with its network of partnerships with hundreds of top designers and managing the crucial but complicated logistics in-house. It offers its partnered brands sophisticated analytics about potential customers in return for lower prices on designer garments.
Rent the Runway is now focused on diversifying revenue streams while reducing its costs. Its recent partnership with Amazon is an example of this new direction: while it will use this channel to sell clothes previously rented through its platform, it will, for the first time, be selling new clothes based on rental items modified in line with market data.
While moves such as this may well shift Rent the Runway towards profitability, it also risks undercutting the company's central message of sustainability and supporting the circular economy. The company believes that by creating better quality clothing, it will nonetheless be aiding in the fight against fast fashion. Time will tell if this move helps or hinders the sustainability movement, but it is likely to boost Rent the Runway's bottom line regardless.
