What the job involves
- Dioxycle is seeking a dedicated and passionate Office Manager to join our team and play a crucial role in supporting our mission of abating CO2 emissions by turning them into products we use everyday
- As our Office Manager at Dioxycle, you will play a key role in fostering a thriving and productive work environment by ensuring the smooth day-to-day operations of our workplace, as well as supporting the development and implementation of new initiatives and projects
- Your role will directly impact the successful industrialisation and commercialisation of our technology by ensuring that our team members are motivated, equipped for their missions and well-supported
- Manage daily office operations, including managing supplies, receiving deliveries, welcoming guests and ensuring general upkeep
- Liaise, negotiate and manage relationships with suppliers, vendors and contractors
- Contribution to general facilities management (large industrial site including an electrochemical lab, electronics & mechanical workshop, etc), eg. tracking building maintenance requirements
- Actively promote our safety culture and contribute to improving health & safety rules & other HSE projects
- Ensure all investors/partners/clients/candidates have great experiences onsite
- Coordinate all onboarding & offboarding processes
- Act as main point of contact for employees regarding office matters, benefits, and general inquiries
- Assist foreign Dioxyclers with settling in France (this sometimes involves helping them call French administration/banks/etc!)
- Organize team-building activities (once per month in Paris and in San Francisco), lunches/breakfasts and celebrations
- Develop and oversee celebration programs that celebrate achievements, work anniversaries, and significant contributions
- Act as a central communication hub (this could include doing a fun weekly newsletter!)
- Support Head of People on diverse missions & projects, which can include benchmarking, creating communication supports (eg. pitch decks for candidates, onboarding guides, etc)
- Support Head of People to find well-suited training programs, incredible coaches & speakers, organize lunch & learn and other workshop sessions
- Support Head of People to source talent pools and coordinate onsite interviews (if you have an appetence for recruitment, you could also own some junior-level recruitments of interns/apprentices etc)

Our take
Ethylene is an important product used in many manufacturing processes, from PVC pipes to clothing to cars. As the world's most highly produced organic compound, it contributes significantly to carbon emissions. Dioxcycle aims to address this problem with a catalytic process that converts carbon trapped during manufacturing into ethylene using water and electricity. Producers that use ethylene in their manufacturing process can use their own carbon emissions as a supply of the chemical, reducing both their carbon emissions and the emissions involved in producing ethylene through traditional methods.
While there is a bright future in technologies that allow manufacturers to produce materials from their carbon emissions, cost is likely to prove a major challenge for Dioxycle. Regardless of green credentials, producers will be looking for value for money in sourcing materials, and high energy costs are a major expense in Dioxycle's process. However, the company has produced several proofs of concept since the company's founding, each more efficient than the last, and recent funding will be used in the construction of an industrial prototype showcasing the company’s efficiency.
Going forward, the company hopes to be able to take advantage of environmental tax credits for sustainable technology, providing a green credit to companies using its processes that offsets the increased energy use. As climate change approaches a tipping point, Dioxycle is likely to play an important role in reducing industrial emissions in the manufacturing process, as well as providing a major source of a widely used manufacturing material.
