Data Scientist, Figma

• The ideal candidate will have a strong track record of using data to influence product teams and help them achieve their goals through both analytics and machine learning
• Degree in a quantitative field (Advanced degree preferred)
• 3+ years relevant work experience
• Fluency in Python, R or similar scripting language
• Proficiency in SQL
• Experience in distributed data processing systems (Hive, Redshift, Presto, Snowflake, etc)
• Breadth of knowledge around machine learning and experiment design, including A/B testing and content ranking algorithms
• Excellent judgment and creative problem solving skills
• A self-starting mindset along with strong communication and collaboration skills

Desirable

• We’re looking for a senior data scientist to work with the Figma Community team, who will take ownership of this team’s data projects and serve as a strategic partner to Product, Engineering, Design, User Research, and Marketing
• In working with an independent product surface with a unique focus, your responsibilities would cover a broad set of work including exploratory analysis, experimentation, and model evaluation and improvement related to the content discovery experience
• Design and evaluate experiments to measure improvements to UI and algorithms
• Generate ideas to creatively leverage data for shaping future product roadmaps
• Collaborate with engineering to leverage machine learning to improve relevancy of content on Community
• Drive democratization of data through creation of new datasets and tooling
• Design and surface metrics to guide decision making
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Product, Engineering, Research, Design, and Marketing
