Our take

Radiology and medical imaging - which accounts for a massive amount of all medical data - has been relying on legacy techs for decades, with fragmented software and applications piled on top of each other without integration. Sirona intends to revolutionize tech for radiology, with its all-in-one AI-enabled OS platform.

It boasts everything a radiologist needs in one place - such as a worklist, viewer, reporter, and PACS archive - as well as being cloud-based and having AI integration for quicker measurements enabling quicker diagnosis. There are a few other features, but in effect it optimizes the workflow from beginning to end.

The company has attracted positive attention, and within three years of launch, it managed to claim 3% of the US market. AI-assisted radiology has been talked about for a while now, and has never quite caught on, but Sirona’s model could well be the answer, seeing as it has secured impressive funding and has been used on over 1.5 million cases.
