Role
Who you are
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
- First practical experience in mobile development
- Experience with Flutter(academic, personal, or professional projects)
- Solid programming fundamentals and understanding of clean code principles
- Basic understanding of APIs and client-server communication
- Comfortable working in agile, cross-functional teams
- Available for at least 6–12 months
- Available for 20 hours per week
- Fluent in English, ideally understanding German
Desirable
- Experience publishing or maintaining mobile apps
- Familiarity with state management patterns in Flutter
- Interest in UX, mobile performance, or analytics
- Curiosity about energy tech, IoT, or smart home systems
What the job involves
- As a Working Student in Mobile Development (m/w/d), you won’t just observe - you’ll contribute to a production-grade Flutter application used by thousands of customers
- You will work with our agile product squads, collaborating closely with engineers, product managers, designers, and data teams to continuously improve the customer experience
- This role is ideal for someone who wants hands-on mobile development experience in a fast-growing climate tech company - and is excited to build intuitive, high-impact B2C experiences
- Contribute to the development of our Flutter-based mobile application (iOS & Android)
- Implement new features and improve existing ones
- Support the integration of smart assets such as EVs, heat pumps, and smart meters into the mobile experience
- Collaborate with backend engineers to connect APIs and display complex energy data meaningfully
- Work closely with Product and Design to deliver user-centric solutions
- Participate in code reviews, testing, and CI/CD processes
- Explore and apply AI-assisted development tools to increase productivity and code quality

Our take
To support the transition to renewable energy, Rabot Charge supplies AI-powered dynamic tariffs that enable consumers to use electricity when it is its cheapest. This is more environmentally friendly because it also corresponds to when more solar and wind power is available.
The company enables this because it buys electricity at short notice via the day-ahead and intraday energy markets, allowing it to make use of hourly price fluctuations. Rabot's customer can power large appliances or charge their electric vehicles when prices are at their lowest, thus saving them money on their energy bill. This also means that more households can access renewable power without major changes to their energy usage habits.
Although it is not the only company delivering dynamic pricing for electricity, Rabot Charge has seen consistent investment over the years which suggests it is doing something right. The 2025 influx, led by Bosch, will support the further development of its algorithm to enhance its ability to find the best prices.
