Who you are
- You are skilled at strategic planning of targeted campaigns and events matched with your ability to successfully execute on local programs, in-person conferences, and virtual events
- You thrive in collaborating cross-functionally and cross-departmentally to orchestrate large projects from start to finish simultaneously, within tight timelines due to our market seasonality
- You expect to travel in order to effectively manage and ensure that the events you execute on provide an outstanding customer experience
- You have 3-5 years of national and/or field marketing and event experience
- You are passionate about field marketing and event management and have a proven track record of being one part strategist, one part executor
- You are meticulously organized with an ability to work and demonstrate grace under pressure
- You have strong project management and entrepreneurial skills to work independently on complex projects
- You are a creative and out of the box thinker that wants to execute on event and localized experiences that stand out from a packed conference agenda
- You are comfortable with ambiguity and have the ability to move forward in this environment
What the job involves
- As Newsela’s Field & Account-Based Manager, you are responsible for the end-to-end strategy and execution of regional programs, ABM campaigns, and regional marketing events
- You’ll partner closely with Marketing, Sales, and Customer Success team stakeholders to drive demand, growth, and engagement for Newsela and work directly with the Field Marketing Coordinator
- Lead the strategy and proactive quarterly planning of our field marketing activations across channels to achieve both marketing- and rep-sourced pipeline targets for Newsela
- Execute on a comprehensive field marketing plan to drive leads and accelerate sales opportunities aligned with Sales and Success teams
- Stay informed on the latest trends and opportunities by researching state initiatives, ABM strategies, event concepts, experiential ideas
- Track ROI, engagement, and feedback to measure results, assess opportunities for improvement, and optimize future field marketing programs, events, and sponsorships
- Create and maintain relevant field marketing playbooks, including GTM plays, operating processes, and templates for customization
- Partner with Demand & Customer Marketing leads to implement engaging and effective messaging across campaign channels that can be tailored to regions and state-specific plays
- Partner with creative, content, channel and operational team members on content, campaign and channel effectiveness
- Partner with Sales on campaigns, follow-up strategies, enablement and lead management reporting

The platform is available in both English and Spanish and includes quizzes, exercises, and writing prompts to help engage students at any level. Millions of teachers and K-12 students use the platform, which has proved extremely popular so far.
In 2021, the company reached unicorn status. Since then, research has shown that Newsela is 70% more effective at promoting reading skills compared to an average summer reading program. This demonstrates the value it brings to the space, and places it well for continued expansion and innovation.
