What the job involves
- OpenTable's Sales and Restaurant Services teams are dedicated to improving restaurants’ revenue potential by utilising best in brand front-of-house management and online reservation technology
- We are committed to helping our customers get the most out of our products, and we’re looking for a strategic-minded, willing to take action, and driven Sales Development Representative to join our team
- You will be part of a team of committed, passionate, and hardworking sales individuals who are intent on ensuring OpenTable's restaurant customers’ success and our dining customers’ enjoyment
- Generate sales leads; Assist with sales prospecting on the phone to schedule appointments for Account Executives in their region
- Implement lead generation programs as they are developed by the Restaurant Marketing team
- Craft and distribute sales messages to restaurant prospects using traditional mailings and targeted email marketing
- Provide general sales support to sales teams; Ensure lead hand-offs to Account Executives are successful and exceed customer expectations. Respond to requests from prospects for additional product information
- Keep management advised of all activity, including timely preparation of reports
- Some travel is required for training, market research and sales initiatives, as well as organizing, preparing for and attending regional trade shows

Today, the platform is used by tens of thousands of restaurants around the world and seats over 1 billion diners per year. The company was acquired by Booking Holdings – the world's largest travel company – for $2.6 billion in 2014, and remains a subsidiary of the group to this day.
OpenTable is the dominant player in the restaurant reservation software category, with an impressive 45% market share, but does face increasing competition from platforms like Resy, Tock, TableAgent, and many more. Nonetheless, this market leader has garnered an impressive reputation, and there is nothing to say it won't hold on to the dominance it has earned into the future.
