Senior Full Stack Software Engineer, Empowerly

• We are seeking a motivated and experienced Senior Full Stack Software Engineer to design, build, and evolve Empowerly’s next-generation ed-tech platform
• This role is ideal for someone who thrives in fast-moving environments, understands the dynamics of scaling a founder-led startup, and knows how to use technology and data to unlock growth levers
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (or closely related field)
• Minimum 5+ years experience as a Full Stack Engineer or equivalent
• Expertise in ReactJS, TypeScript, and modern front-end frameworks
• Experience designing and building scalable, secure back-end systems (Node.js, Python, or Rails)
• Solid grounding in AI/ML concepts, with hands-on experience integrating models into web applications
• Strong problem-solving skills, detail orientation, and the ability to balance speed with quality
• You know how to challenge assumptions constructively and align fast once a decision is made
• You live in AI and understand how to make it useful in production systems

• Incorporate AI algorithms and machine learning models into web-based applications to provide intelligent, data-driven features
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of designers, developers, and product managers to bring innovative solutions and products to life
• Review, debug, and validate code, and perform testing for validation and verification
• Document development phases, monitor systems, and ensure the alignment of application design with business goals
• Collaborate with engineers to embed algorithms and models into production applications (e.g., recommendation engines, essay analysis, readiness scoring) and bring the AI/ML capabilities to the team
• Partner with product, data, and design teams to ship features that impact revenue, retention, and student success
