What the job involves
- Reporting to our Financial Operations Lead, with a dotted line to the founders, you’ll be responsible for:
- Owning the SPV Process: Taking charge of the Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) process from a FinOps perspective, managing tasks such as setting up legal entities, investment closing, processing refunds, dealing with exits, and overseeing other investment events and regulatory reporting
- Documentation: Meticulously documenting all SPV processes and proposing enhancements and automations to streamline our operations
- Implementation of Improvements: Internally implementing SPV process improvements and collaborating with the Product team on automation and productisation
- Customer Interaction: Directly liaising with customers at every stage of the process, noting feedback and identifying pain points to enhance their experience
- This role extends beyond managing day-to-day processes. Your mission to optimise, streamline, and automate existing operations for enhanced efficiency
- In addition to your core responsibilities, you'll receive mentorship directly from our Founders and Leadership team. We believe in nurturing talent and are committed to supporting your professional growth. This one-year placement is brilliant if you want to collaborate with different teams and gain early business exposure that will help accelerate your career

Our take
Odin is at the apex of two major trends in finance: the democratisation of access to private markets through technology, and the increasingly social feel of finance and investing. The startup began as a social network with an investment layer built on top, though it is now a more focused financial service that simplifies startup investing.
The company's roots in social and community speak to a unique trajectory it is on. After gaining a lot of traction with its syndicate-formation service, the startup has been looking to develop further products that decentralise and simplify capital rails for the innovation ecosystem. It’s likely that the product roadmap will be developed in conjunction with its customer base, many of whom attend Odin’s salons.
Though the company has had to navigate an environment where capital going towards innovative companies is at a fraction of where it once was, it appears to have emerged unscathed, if not stronger. In 2023, it raised £2.4 million in a seed round that included contributions from 220 angels through its own platform. It plans to use these funds to roll out its marketplace for people raising money to find investors, as well as support scale-up plans across Europe and possibly into Asia.
