Role
Who you are
- 3-6 years Strategic Finance, FP&A, Investment Banking, Consulting, or a related business field
- An expert in financial modeling and quantitative analysis, who enjoys solving complex and unstructured problems
- Demonstrate strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
- Solid project management skills, ability to independently manage tasks on time
- Comfortable working in a very fast-paced, high-growth business environment
- Work effectively and collaboratively cross functionally with your business partners
- High proficiency in Google Sheets with ability to compile, transform, analyze, and present complex data sets
- Proficiency in a data tools (Sigma) and a FP&A tools (Pigment)
- Knowledge of hardware products or experience at a hardware company a plus
- Bachelorâs degree required, preferably in Finance, Accounting, or related field

What the job involves
- Flock Safety is seeking a Manager on the finance team who will support the supply chain and operations functions
- As we have rapidly built out our suite of hardware products, the complexity of our capex spend has increased and we are looking for a manager to help scale our modeling capabilities and be at the center of strategic projects
- This role will sit at an exciting intersection between the teams that build, sell, and implement our hardware and will drive all modeling & data analysis to support decision making across our capex spend
- 90 Days at Flock:
- We prescribe to 90 day plans and believe that good days lead to good weeks, which lead to good months. This serves as a preview of the 90 day plan you will receive if you were to be hired in this role at Flock Safety
- The First 30 Days:
- Your first month is about context, connection, and fluency. Youâll focus on understanding Flockâs hardware business, how capital flows through the organization, and how teams across Product, Operations, Sales, and Finance work together to plan and deploy inventory
- During this time, youâll build strong cross-functional relationships, get oriented to the core data and tools that support decision-making, and begin identifying opportunities to improve visibility and clarity in how we model and track capex and inventory
- The First 60 Days:
- By month two, youâre moving from learning to ownership. Youâll begin actively improving and scaling our capex and inventory modeling approach, introducing clearer inputs, stronger forecasting signals, and better ways to monitor inventory consumption
- Youâll partner closely with stakeholders to ensure models reflect real-world demand and operational constraints, and youâll start translating data into insights that inform planning discussions and executive decisions
- 90 Days & Beyond:
- By this point, you are the clear owner of capex and inventory modeling at Flock. Youâve elevated the quality and reliability of the data used in Demand Planning, strengthened the connection between what we sell and what we build, and surfaced actionable insights that help the business make smarter production and investment decisions
- From here, the role continues to scale â driving ongoing efficiencies, identifying meaningful cost-saving opportunities, and helping Flock deploy capital with confidence as the business grows
Our take
Public vehicle surveillance provides valuable insights to emergency services for the prevention of crime, but bringing information together to create leads is difficult. There's no standardised system for inter-city vehicle surveillance, and this makes it difficult for communities and law enforcement services to work together.
Flock Safety provides surveillance equipment that aims to improve the abilities of law enforcement and homeowner associations to communicate data with each other. The company focuses on vehicle surveillance, innovating on existing technology by using machine learning to categorise vehicles by color, license plate, state, and other data points.
Whilst automated surveillance equipment is used daily within federal police forces, Flock Safety builds technology systems that provide a means for smaller law enforcement agencies to quantify and share surveillance data easily.
