Senior Software Engineer, Confluent

• BS, MS, or PhD in computer science or a related field, or equivalent work experience
• 1.5+ years of relevant stream processing experience
• Strong fundamentals in distributed systems design and development
• Experience building and operating large-scale systems
• Solid understanding of cloud engineering
• A self-starter with the ability to work effectively in teams
• Proficiency in Go, and Java, or Scala

• The Stream Processing & Analytics team has the vision to build an elastic, reliable, durable, cost effective and performant stream processing engine that smoothly works with the existing Confluent Cloud products
• The Apache Flink based stream processing engine is at the heart of innovations that would unlock the next generation of use cases for Confluent Cloud, with the ability to impact the company’s top and bottom line
• This role is about providing the right amount of stream processing at any given point in time, so that customers can focus on building their use case without having to care about buttons and knobs. Ensuring a true cloud native experience for our users and customers
• Work on the Flink autopilot to provide the right balance of performance, resources and cost for our customers. You will play a crucial role in designing, developing and operationalizing high performance, scalable, reliable and resilient systems
• Independently drive execution of software projects to deliver complex projects in production with a focus on quality
• Build upon and contribute to open source software to deliver business impact
• Troubleshoot issues and improve operations for complex technical stack that spans all the 3 clouds
