Role
Who you are
- 4+ years of product management experience, with significant focus on Enterprise SaaS software
- Deep understanding of enterprise security and compliance requirements (SOC2, GDPR, Data Residency etc.)
- Track record of delivering complex technical products that drive enterprise adoption
- Strong technical background with ability to collaborate effectively with engineering teams
- Excellence in stakeholder management and cross-functional leadership
- Experience working directly with enterprise customers and understanding their security needs
- Proven ability to translate technical requirements into business value
- Strong analytical skills with data-driven decision making
What the job involves
- You’ll work with a team of our security/compliance Engineers, along with the team’s EM, who will serve as your Engineering partner
- As the dedicated owner of Mural's enterprise security and compliance capabilities, you'll play a crucial role in our company's growth strategy
- Your work will directly impact our ability to compete and win in enterprise deals, while ensuring our platform meets the highest standards of security and compliance that our customers demand
- Own and drive the product strategy for Mural's enterprise security and compliance features, from conception through delivery
- Partner with enterprise customers to deeply understand their security requirements and translate them into compelling product solutions
- Lead the development and execution of our enterprise security roadmap, including features such as:
- Bring Your Own Key (BYOK) implementations
- Cloud Access Security Broker (CASB) integration
- Data classification and residency controls
- IP Allow listing and file restrictions
- EDiscovery capabilities
- Domain-based access controls
- Collaborate with Sales, Customer Success, and Security teams to identify and prioritize enterprise-critical features
- Drive competitive analysis in the enterprise collaboration space
- Own internal and external communication strategies for security features
- Measure and communicate the business impact of security investments
Our take
Mural is a virtual collaboration platform that caters both to the increasing demand for visual work methods and the shift towards remote working. Functioning more like a team- or business-wide whiteboard than a chat room, it is part of a developing trend away from single-channel platforms like Slack and towards a more integrated collaborative workspace.
Founded in 2011, Mural is an early entrant in an increasingly crowded field which includes rivals such as Gather and Tandem. However it stands out with the flexibility of its approach to multi-functional virtual spaces and range of integrations. This has allowed it to gather a large customer base in a diverse range of companies including IBM, Autodesk and SAP, where it generated a 400% return on investment and higher staff retention for the company.
Mural's founding team were well-equipped to lead the company through its initial stages of development, including multiple funding rounds that grew its valuation beyond $2 billion. However as the company matured it struggled to find its direction and required a change of leadership. Having completed a rebrand and selected Davad Baga (formerly of Lyft) as CEO at the end of 2022, it is poised to continue its growth in a new phase for the company.
