Role
Who you are
- 5+ years of experience building and delivering enterprise-grade applications using an object-oriented language
- Solid experience with .NET Framework and ASP.NET (we don’t count years here—just skill)
- Strong hands-on experience with MVC, Web API frameworks (ASP.NET or similar), and RESTful APIs
- Familiarity with ORM frameworks like Entity Framework, NHibernate, or similar
- Proficiency in relational database design and SQL querying
- Deep understanding of SOLID principles and how to apply them in real-world projects
- Solid testing chops—unit, integration, API, and performance testing are part of your flow
- A strong communicator with great interpersonal skills—able to work with teams across geographies and disciplines
- Focused on writing maintainable, testable, well-crafted code using design patterns and best practices
- Passionate about clean code and craftsmanship (TDD, BDD, Calisthenics—we speak your language)
Desirable
- Experience with SharePoint and Office 365 development
- DevOps experience and CI/CD mindset
- Familiarity with OAuth, OpenID, and modern authentication protocols
- Experience with GraphQL APIs
- Knowledge of NoSQL databases (e.g., document-based or key-value stores)
- Exposure to Microservices or Modular Monolith architecture
- Understanding of advanced architectural patterns (DDD, Onion, Hexagonal, Ports & Adapters, CQRS)
- Experience with cloud-native applications and Azure cloud services
- Familiarity with event-driven systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ, etc.)
- Experience working with containerized applications (Docker)

- We’re looking for a seasoned Senior Back-End Developer who’s passionate about clean code, scalable architecture, and solving real-world problems with elegant technical solutions
- In this role, you’ll take full ownership of backend features—from technical design to delivery—while working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure what we build is reliable, performant, and maintainable
- You'll help drive our backend strategy forward, contribute to our engineering culture, and continuously look for ways to improve how we build software
- This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a collaborative, fast-moving environment and enjoys diving deep into frameworks like .NET, building secure and scalable APIs, and working with a modern tech stack that includes relational and NoSQL databases, containerization, and cloud infrastructure

- Own and drive product features from technical design to delivery, collaborating closely with Product, QA, and other stakeholders
- Tackle tech debt head-on—identify weak spots and propose real, scalable solutions
- Write clean, testable, and high-performance code that follows our internal standards and makes future-you proud
- Contribute to milestones by ensuring every piece of code meets our Definition of Done (DoD)
- Share technical ideas and solutions in a way that’s easy for the whole team to understand and rally around
- Stay curious—research and test new tools, frameworks, and strategies to keep our stack modern and efficient
Our take
Founded back in 2002, Appspace has grown into something of a leader in the workplace experience field. What essentially started as an internal content management and digital signage toolkit has since expanded into an end-to-end workplace management platform that caters for both physical and digital co-working and communication.
The calibre of customers that Appspace serves says a lot about its status – Google, Meta, LinkedIn, Coca-Cola and Pfizer all use the platform. It’s to the company’s credit that it’s stayed abreast of changing needs in the workplace, and added to its product offering at opportune moments, either by developing its solutions or via strategic acquisitions.
Now that a blend of on-site, hybrid, and remote working is the norm, there’s a need for a single platform that ensures good employee (and customer) experiences, rather than companies using a host of distributed apps. It’s a need that Appspace is fulfilling well, as it continues to invest in product innovation.
