  • North American Banking Expertise: You know the ins and outs of traditional North American banking and understand the relevant regulatory frameworks
  • Project Management Skills: You’re a problem-solver who can take ownership, make decisions, and drive projects to completion
  • Analytical Mindset: You love diving into data, identifying patterns, and sharing actionable insights with your team
  • Communication Skills: You’re a clear and confident communicator, able to explain processes to both internal teams and external partners
  • Attention to Detail: You have strong documentation skills, ensuring clarity and accuracy in all your work
  • Team Player: You can work independently or collaborate seamlessly with others, juggling multiple priorities at once
  • Growth Mindset: You’re open to feedback, eager to learn, and motivated to grow
  • Fluent English: Excellent written and spoken English skills are essential; other languages are a bonus!

What the job involves

  • What We Do at Wise: Wise is on a mission to make money without borders the new normal, and you’ll be an essential part of that journey! With millions of customers around the world, we’re committed to transparency, innovation, and fairness in finance

  • By collaborating with various teams within Wise, you’ll ensure that our RFI operations run smoothly and meet our high standards
  • Data Analysis: Use tools like Looker and other BI platforms to perform deep dives into RFI data, spot trends, and assess financial crime risks
  • Problem Solving: Act as the main point of contact for escalations, handling process and system-related issues, and coordinating with North American partner banks
  • Process Improvement: Identify gaps, develop solutions, and refine procedures to enhance our RFI operations
  • Collaboration: Work closely with teams across Wise, from Compliance to Product, to tackle challenges and share insights
  • Onboarding New Partners: Assist in bringing new North American banking partners on board, ensuring that they meet our RFI requirements
  • Continuous Improvement: Keep an eye out for opportunities to make our processes better and more efficient

Our take

Wise started when the two founders realised they would be better off trading Estonian kroons for British pounds (and vice versa) between themselves rather than going through banks. That was back in 2011, and they've since grown Wise into one of Europe's most successful tech businesses, exchanging billions of currency every month.

Wise rapidly grew by solving a significant problem for customers, who lost too much money to banks when exchanging currency. They've attracted investment from some of the best investors in the world, from Andreesen Horowitz to Index Ventures and even Richard Branson.

The challenge for Wise will be maintaining their edge and brand power in a market that's becoming increasingly crowded with new entrants (like Revolut and Monzo) and incumbents (traditional banks) trying to catch up. To do so, the company is ramping up its digital and marketing strategies, as well as pushing for further development of its existing products.
