Role
Who you are
- Background in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 3+ years of relevant experience in accounting/controlling
- Strong knowledge of German accounting principles (HGB)
- Experience in financial administration including accounts payable/receivable, invoice processing, and receipt management. Proficient in accounting software and digital bookkeeping systems (e.g., SevDesk, DATEV, Chargebee). Strong background in handling day-to-day financial operations and documentation
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Organisational talent with strong attention to detail
- Ability to work autonomously with a strong sense of ownership and responsibility
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in German (Native speaker) and English (B1-Level)
- Startup experience is a plus
- Passion for innovation, continuous improvement, and making a positive impact
What the job involves

- Be responsible for the establishment and continuous development of our financial processes and controlling systems throughout the company
- Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable and receivable
- Handle invoice processing, documentation management, and expense tracking
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Develop and maintain financial controlling processes
- Take ownership of finance reporting tasks, ensuring accurate and efficient financial reporting to support strategic decision-making. Build and optimise reporting processes, either from scratch or by improving existing structures
- Support budgeting and forecasting activities
- Collect and analyse KPIs on a regular basis to monitor performance and provide actionable insights
- Ensure compliance with German accounting standards and tax regulations
- Collaborate with external tax advisors and auditors
- Implement and optimise financial tools and workflows to improve efficiency
- Directly report to the Co-Founder & CPO of Recyda
Our take
Recyda creates more precise and efficient recycling assessments on a global scale, providing companies with a database that centralises information specifically on the recyclability of packaging. This in turn helps companies keep up with waste quotas and reassess the way they package their products.
Through Recyda’s application, companies can visualise how packaging specifications are changing, helping brands and manufacturers align their processes with the recycling requirements of countries. The German-born start-up has received several rounds of seed funding since 2021 and is focusing its 2023 investment on expanding its team, markets, and its platform's capabilities.
