Who you are
- Ideal candidates will have proven success in the post-sales development and deployment of technical products, as well as experience providing technical support to sales activities
- 3+ years of experience as Solutions Engineer, Sales Engineer, or Solutions Architect
- 3+ years of experience in software engineering or DevOps
- Experience leading successful, customer-facing engagements, including deployments directly in customers’ environments
- Ability to write and maintain scripts in Python, especially for automation, API interactions, and data manipulation
- Professional experience with deployment technologies, such as Docker, Kubernetes, and tools of major cloud service providers (Azure/AWS/GCP)
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, version control systems (e.g., Git), and infrastructure as code (IaC) tools
- Familiarity with security best practices, including securing containerized applications and resolving vulnerabilities
- Excellent communications skills, including the ability to facilitate effective collaboration across teams and articulate technical solutions and value propositions to non-technical stakeholders
- Comfort working in a fast-paced, fluid environment, operating effectively both with relative independence and as a member of small teams
- Experience with or interest in building RAG applications
- While we are a remote first company, engaging customers requires a willingness and interest to travel up to 20%
What the job involves
- As a Solutions Engineer, you will lead technical interactions with Unstructured’s users, enabling them to achieve business and mission objectives with our products and services
- Lead technical execution on post-sales engagements, ensuring delivery excellence and forging strong relationships with our users, and deploying our tools in virtual private clouds and on-premises
- Become an expert at using the Unstructured API and Platform, building and presenting reference architectures, technical guides, and onboarding material for users
- Provide top-notch support and guidance on the deployment, integration, and/or use of our AI-enabling products
- Help grow our deployments through technical support to business development activities (giving demos and workshops, building prototypes, etc.)
- Partner with our product managers and engineering leads to identify and prioritize feature development based on customer feedback and market signal
- Build deep expertise in the Gen AI industry, especially Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) applications, and proactively share your knowledge with colleagues and customers

The company's platform provides a solution by extracting and staging all data, even that which is in difficult-to-use formats, and making it compatible with LLMs.
Thus, the startup streamlines the time-consuming data preparation process, providing tools for otherwise complex tasks like removing unwanted elements, text concatenation, and Optical Character Recognition (OCR). It also tailors processing pipelines for specific document types, addressing a critical bottleneck in AI development workflows.
In enabling the seamless integration of LLMs with enterprise data, Unstructured's platform has the potential to unlock substantial productivity gains. As of March 2024, its open-source library has been download more than 6M times and by 2025, the total user base has grown significantly, with over 65,000 organizations now leveraging Unstructured tools. The company continues to develop its solution to the data-preparation bottleneck, a crucial component in meeting the evolving demands of enterprise-scale LLM deployments.
