Role
Who you are
- You have a good understanding of hardware design and development processes. This includes knowledge of electronic components, printed circuit board (PCB) design, firmware, and testing procedures
- You have a proven track record of delivering product solutions from vision and conception to completion
- You have experience working with multi-platform teams building complex products and managing the various stakeholder interest
- You have experience with manufacturing processes and supply chain management
- You have experience with agile development methods, a confident appearance and good communication skills
- You can seamlessly work across functional and organizational boundaries and influence decision-making across levels and organizations
- You are able to easily gather and evaluate large datasets/metrics and make informed decisions based on these
- You have very good verbal and written English language skills
- You can understand and contextualize product objectives
What the job involves
- You ensure that hardware products are designed to meet technical, performance, and quality standards
- You work with hardware engineers to define product specifications and ensure that products meet design requirements
- You identify and manage technical risks and issues throughout the product development lifecycle
- You work with manufacturing partners to ensure that products are manufactured to meet quality and cost targets
- You coordinate with internal and external stakeholders in an iterative process to find & create the best possible solution
- You develop and take ownership of products and features that solve our users needs and focus on speed, reliability, scalability and customization
- You create user journeys, personas and general research together with the team
- You monitor the market and develop competitive analyses and you evaluate existing data and research to create user stories based on the collected information
- You take part and contribute in Design Thinking workshops to grow ideas into real products with the team
- You prioritize requirements, take over the maintenance of the product backlog and ensure the common understanding of the tasks
- You develop and manage budgets and resources to ensure timely and cost-effective product development
- You stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies to ensure that products remain competitive
- Together with other members of the product team you maintain a properly managed Backlog and roadmap that contribute to the company strategy and take care of continuous communication
Our take
Sensorberg is on a mission to blur the line between physical buildings and the digital world. The idea is to turn buildings like shared office spaces and co-working sites into smart structures, using smart tech like sensors and phone connections to make building access, room bookings, and property management easier and more secure.
Smart building features can make operations smoother, cheaper, and more productive for businesses with the resources to install them. They also substantially improve a building’s energy efficiency, which could prove an especially lucrative angle for Sensorberg to push going forwards. Energy efficiency is climbing up the corporate agenda, and whilst Sensorberg’s solutions aren’t cheap per se, they could pay dividends as industries come under increasing pressure to prove their green credentials.
One thing worth noting is that smart homes have seen unexpectedly slow adoption rates - will we see the same reluctant pattern when it comes to corporate buildings? It seems improbable. Integrated home systems are often prohibitively costly, which is unlikely to deter the kind of corporations most likely to benefit from the high security, strong productivity solution they offer.
