Role
Who you are
- Bring strong technical expertise and be comfortable going deep into electrical and systems design when needed
- Be an excellent communicator
- 10+ years experience in hardware product development for high volume products
- Demonstrated success leading multi-disciplinary technical development teams
- Experience driving products into high-volume mass production with Asian contract manufacturers
- Deep knowledge of hardware development best practices in two or more of the following areas: Electronics, mechanics, system engineering, or firmware
- Willingness to travel within the US and Asia (sometimes with little notice) based on need in the product development cycle
- BSEE, ME or Physics
What the job involves
- As a Hardware Engineering EPM, you will be responsible for leading the development of Tive hardware (EE, ME, firmware, radio, mfg test) from concept through Mass Production. You will be the internal and external face of the project, the source of truth for timelines, and ultimately responsible for delivering on-time
- You will lead the internal team through the development cycle planning and coordinating all cross functional activities to bring the product to life, being a technical mentor/sounding board for the team as well as the single source of truth regarding project status, timelines, deliverables and risks
- You will be the main technical point of contact with external partners and plan/coordinate all activities/deliverables with them, including development partners, contract manufacturers, and consultants

- Lead the team in the design of electrical, mechanical, firmware & mfg test
- Partner with Quality and all external partners to ensure complete product validation
- Have detailed knowledge of all technical issues, project milestones and deliverables
- Coordinate and drive all work within hardware, and with our development/mfg partners
- Ensure that all work is planned, owned, and being executed in the right sequence, identifying dependencies, bottlenecks and risks
- Own, maintain, and update schedules and work plans
- Identify gaps in capability and drive systemic change to improve everything that we do
- Manage ECOs and run retrospectives
- Own BOM cost and partner with Supply Chain to drive/improve CoGM
- Regular clear communications of program progress
Our take
Traditionally, shipment tracking has been complicated, unreliable and expensive. Tive’s platform allows businesses to constantly track and update their supply chain to enable a dynamic and flexible approach to international commerce.
Tive’s system is based around sensors that accompany shipments, allowing real-time product tracking with data uploaded to the cloud. This system allows clients access to location, shipment integrity and climate status, allowing businesses to better understand how their products are shipped.
Tive serves customers across the shipping industry, a huge market that is still on the rise. This has fuelled its expansion, with the company already having clients ranging from consumer packaged goods, logistics, produce, and retail, including Alpine Fresh, Fastly, and Aviagen. $40 million in 2025 Series C funding will help Tive bring even more solutions to its growing customer base.
