Who you are
- You have a minimum of 5 years’ work experience in a similar role or a CPA and/or equivalent designation
- You are comfortable with daily use of Google Sheets and Excel
- You are extremely capable of navigating large datasets and are proficient in advanced functions and data visualizations

What the job involves
- We are seeking a highly-motivated and adaptable accountant to join our Finance team, to contribute to building a company on a strong foundation of financial processes and workflows to support the mission
- If you are a self-motivated and creative problem solver who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, we’d love to hear from you
- Digging into the data, preparing detailed financial reports and schedules in accordance with US GAAP to support accounting close activities critical to month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes
- Supporting the broader finance team by providing financial data and granular reporting to meet tax compliance and management forecasting needs
- Participating in the maintenance of internal accounting controls as they relate to overall financial reporting in compliance with SOX regulations
- Fulfilling internal and external auditor requests for period end reporting requirements
- Collaborating with special projects, transactions, and general operations where necessary to support AbCellera’s goals and objectives
- Providing general support to your Finance teammates as needed

Our take
Antibody discovery is the process by which antibodies are identified that bind to specific disease targets, enabling treatments for those diseases to be developed. AbCellera provides an AI-powered platform for antibody discovery, to help speed up the creation of such treatments.
As the pharmaceutical world continues to embrace AI, there is immense opportunity for AbCellera. The company already scored a big win back in 2020 by helping Eli Lilly identify the antibody it would use in its COVID-19 treatment. Now, it looks to execute its 100 or so discovery programs for new drugs from which it can hope to earn millions in royalties.
The challenge for AbCellera, like many startups in the space, will be staying ahead of the curve in the application of emerging technologies while maintaining total compliance with regulations. So far signs are encouraging, with steady revenue improvements and a number of partnerships under its belt.

Véronique Lecault
(CTO & Co-founder)Véronique received their PhD in Chemical and Biological Engineering from the University of British Columbia, where they co-invented the high-throughput microfluidic platform that is now part of AbCellera’s core technology. They are a recipient of the L’Oreal-UNESCO For Women in Science Mentorship Award.
