Role
Who you are
- Currently pursuing a degree or program in Marketing or relevant field to the role
- A social media native with a pulse on current Internet culture, emerging digital trends, and visual storytelling
- Strong copyediting skills and an eye for creative multimedia content (video, virtual OOH, etc.)
- Excellent project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multi-language calendars
- Available for a full-time, 12-week internship, working from our San Francisco office 3-5 days a week during the fall (Sept-Dec)
What the job involves
- Dates: September 14 - December 4
- We are seeking a creative and driven Brand Social Media Intern to help execute an impactful, high-visibility social media strategy
- This role will support a major new Cloudflare awareness campaign and a large-scale Out-of-Home (OOH) advertising blitz in the San Francisco Bay Area during Q4
- Timed alongside Connect, our global annual user conference, this campaign—titled “Paint the Town Orange”—aims to bridge physical and digital advertising
- You will play a key role in extending our local OOH presence into a global social media movement, driving engagement among Cloudflare’s customers, prospects, and tech community
- Social Amplification & Experiential Marketing: Drive digital engagement for our brand awareness campaign and other marketing activations by utilizing and repurposing footage from OOH and live experiential events
- Virtual OOH & Content Ideation: Brainstorm, concept, and help create "Virtual OOH" (CGI/digital-first) social content to maximize online visual impact and virality
- Copywriting & Traffic Management: Develop compelling social ad copy and manage the creation of tracking/destination URLs to support campaign goals
- Global Calendar Management: Oversee a campaign-specific social media calendar, ensuring all platforms across all target languages are synchronized and executed in close partnership with the Corporate Social team
- Localization & Distribution: Coordinate translations and manage distribution specifically for Cloudflare's Japanese social media handles to ensure regional relevance
- Campaign Project Management: Maintain organization, track deadlines, and manage project workflows to keep multi-channel campaign deliverables on schedule

Cloudflare is a multi-service global network that provides web security and infrastructure, DDoS mitigation services, and a content delivery network. Founded in 2009, Cloudflare has risen to become an industry giant, with over 25 million global internet properties on its network.
Cloudflare has been responsible for a number of admirable initiatives, offering free web protection to human rights groups, journalists, artists, and US election websites. This goes some way to counteracting the flak Cloudflare has received in some circles for the controversial groups and users who use its services. This chequered history, however, has not affected its over 80% market share in the content delivery network field.
This is perhaps in part because it has proven sharp at staying abreast of the rapidly morphing tech and digital space and customer demands. For example, Cloudflare is shifting to 100% renewable energy usage to create a zero-emissions internet, and in 2020 released a feature that would help users navigate data privacy regulations by selecting where their data is stored.
And impressive third-quarter 2025 results show strong momentum, with revenue rising to $562 million from $430 million a year earlier. The company also raised its full-year guidance, underscoring confidence in continued growth. As demand for secure, cloud-based infrastructure keeps growing, Cloudflare's expanding platform and improving efficiency leave it well positioned to capture further gains in a rapidly growing market.
