Who you are
- You have deep experience in building applications in a professional product (SaaS) environment, ideally with TypeScript. (Go would be a plus.)
- You’re exited about developer tooling, and Playwright
- You have experience building distributed systems on AWS or bare metal servers
- You like to have business impact and the instant visibility that a start up offers
- You like to work in a growing company with experienced founders
- You assume good intentions and are a great communicator in spoken and written English
- You have the ability to be autonomous and self-motivated in a remote work environment, while you also enjoy getting to know your colleagues and helping others

- Our backend runs on Hapi.js, Golang and a mix of AWS and bare metal server monitoring infrastructure, distributed around the globe. We ran over 2.5 billion checks already and are ramping up for a lot more
- Implement a custom playwright reporter that allows customers to send test results from their CI runs into Checkly
- Work with infra to deploy our own Clickhouse instance to capture check run logs and metadata. Design and implement an API on this datastore that allows customers to run reports on their check runs
- Work with a customer to hunt down a bug that lets certain checks fail in their private location infrastructure
- You will spearhead an AI Agent prototype to that allows customers to generate Playwright tests for their existing codebase
- You'll work on scaling our current backend platform to meet the demands of our growing business, and participate in our on-call rotation to keep everything running smoothly around the clock
Our take
DevOps introduced more automation to the software development process and lifecycle, allowing new applications to be on the market at a quicker pace. But with progress comes changes and new requirements for developing, testing, and deploying applications, thus requiring transformation for modern monitoring systems.
Checkly is an active monitoring platform designed for developers. The API is programmable, flexible, and works well with JavaScript. Checkly allows cross-functional DevOps and engineering teams to run deep API monitoring and Javascript-powered flexible frontend tests across 20+ global data center locations.
The transaction monitoring tool makes it easy to regularly test interactions with front-end websites without having to actually write any code. Pricing for its services starts at $7 per month for individual developers, with plans for small teams starting at $29 per month. Looking ahead, funding will be used to expand Checkly’s engineering team and build out its platform.
