Role
Who you are
- Depth of experience developing high quality software in a cross-functional product team, with the ability to hit the ground running
- Hands-on, production experience across any tech stack, such as Go, Python, Ruby or Java on the backend, and Vue or React on the frontend
- Ideally experience in both product development and experimental development (a perfect fit here will be in Growth like teams)
- A desire to deeply understand our customers and the problems they face, in order to improve their day-to-day experience
- An ability to thrive in ambiguity, tackling problems that might not be well defined and without obvious solutions
- Proven ability to take the initiative, make well-judged trade-offs and drive forwards decision making
- A passion for levelling up those around you through a collaborative approach to problem solving
- A keen sense of curiosity, with a natural drive to learn and grow
What the job involves
- You’ll be joining our Core team - a cross-functional team of Software Engineers, Product Managers and Designers, all collaborating together with the wider business to achieve impactful product outcomes in our core product offering
- Everyone is involved from day one in shaping opportunities that provide value to both clients and suppliers on Risk Ledger, always keeping the users at the forefront of our minds
- As our business grows and evolves, we are introducing - alongside our main roadmap - a Growth motion to our business
- This means the work you’ll be involved in will rotate between product features, technical investment and experiments designed to enhance our understanding of our customer base and guide us in our journey of acquiring more users and providing value for these users
- The core of our stack is Go, PostgreSQL and Vue.js with Typescript. Our product primarily sits on top of AWS, with ECS for container orchestration and all managed via Terraform
- Our Product Engineers play a crucial role in our user and product experience. You will be focused on solving end-to-end product challenges in the best manner for our customers. Whilst you may have a natural inclination towards the backend or the frontend, we expect you to delve into any aspect of our tech stack as necessary to have an impact on our customers and success of the business
- You’ll be collaborating on a daily basis with designers, product managers, other engineers and the wider business to create a great product experience and continuously ship value to our users
- And as one of our more senior engineers, you will also have a long-standing impact on our engineering strategy, codebase and developer experience
- Collaborate to deliver exceptional product. From understanding initial needs to crafting usable solutions, you'll work directly with product managers and designers to bring ideas to life
- Be flexible: you apply different approach to the task at hand based on context. You would be as comfortable applying the right quality and diligence when dealing with a key product feature as you would with quickly putting together an experiment to evaluate user’s needs and interactions
- Lead from the front. By asking the right questions at the right time, challenging assumptions, encouraging continued learning and driving positive impact through building deep trust and credibility with the team

Risk Ledger was founded with the goal to shift the way organisations deal with cybersecurity and information management in the supply chain. Through its platform, Risk Ledger is marking a turning point in the process of discovering, measuring and then mitigating security risks for companies, their clients and their suppliers. Risk Ledger is trying to lower the number of data breaches experienced by companies and consumers as a consequence of supply chain attacks on a global level.
According to research, over 60% of organisations have suffered a data breach originating in the supply chain with fines inevitably following. Mainstream risk assurance methods are no longer be able to effectively detect and mitigate the growing risk associated with more complex and more global supply chains. SMEs are also generally less resilient to security attacks than multinational corporations due to smaller budgets and teams; over 50,000 SMEs in the UK could collapse after a successful cyber attack.
Risk Ledger has helped customers collect supplier data up to 70% faster than before and reduced per-supplier costs by up to 90%. Its challenge now is to provide integrations with different tools and, by doing so, turn Risk Ledger into a Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) solution.
