Strong proficiency in Javascript with a focus on React
Experience with Python, particularly with Django and Flask frameworks

What the job involves

As a Full Stack Engineer, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining software applications and features, working collaboratively and troubleshooting complex issues. You will have the opportunity to work on software that makes a very real difference to the way the nation’s healthcare system operates
You will join an Engineering team of 19 reporting into one of our Engineering Managers. You will work in close collaboration with our Product, Design and Operations teams to ensure we deliver the most impactful work and high-quality solutions to our customers
Developing and maintaining software applications and features using a tech stack that includes React, Python - Django / Flask, React Native, Kubernetes (EKS), Redis, and PostgreSQL all on AWS infrastructure
Designing and developing APIs
Contributing to collaborative cross-functional teams, working with product, designers, and other engineers, to define and deliver high-quality solutions
Adhering to architectural and coding best practices and generally improving the existing codebase through identifying and addressing technical debt, bugs, and performance bottlenecks
Ensuring responsiveness and scalability of applications
Participating in code reviews and knowledge sharing with the team to ensure code quality and system performance
Troubleshooting and debugging issues across the stack and providing technical support for user facing roles

The NHS is facing huge financial pressures. An area that's been targeted in recent years is the billions the NHS spends on sourcing temporary doctors, known as locums, largely via agencies which take large fees.

Lantum's business model has changed since launch. It was originally a marketplace which helped healthcare providers connect with vetted temporary staff when they found gaps in their shifts. It has since become a wider platform for NHS workforce management.

Their software helps healthcare organisations fill the maximum number of shifts, by enabling them to manage their own network of clinicians and introducing them to new clinicians in the area. In 2021 they supported over 3,000 healthcare organisations, saving the NHS over £30 million.

Having already introduced the service for smaller clinics, they now aim to introduce it to hospitals as well as expanding the service to all healthcare professionals – including nurses and receptionists.
