Role
Who you are
- 0-2 years of experience in backend engineering or software development (internships, projects, or full-time roles)
- Familiarity with at least one backend programming language (e.g., Python, Java, Go, Node.js)
- Basic understanding of databases (SQL and NoSQL) and experience with querying and managing data
- Familiarity with API development and integration of backend systems
- Strong desire to learn and grow within the AdTech field, with an interest in real-time bidding and targeting strategies
- Ability to work in a collaborative team environment, including participating in code reviews and learning from senior engineers
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and the basics of deploying backend services
- Basic knowledge of version control systems (e.g., Git) and familiarity with development workflows
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to take ownership of small tasks and projects
What the job involves
- The Engineering & Data team builds innovative tech products and platforms to support the impressive growth of their gaming and consumer apps which allow Voodoo to stay at the forefront of the mobile industry
- Within the Data team, you’ll join the Ad-Network Team which is an autonomous squad of around 30 people
- The team is composed of top-tier software engineers, infrastructure engineers, data engineers, mobile engineers, and data scientists (among which 3 Kaggle Masters)
- The goal of this team is to provide a way for Voodoo to monetize our inventory directly with advertising partners, and relies on advanced technological solutions to optimize advertising in a real-time bidding environment
- It is a strategic topic with significant impact on the business
- This roles requires to be onsite 3 days/week and is Paris based
- Assist in building and maintaining backend services that enable audience targeting for real-time bidding decisions in an OpenRTB environment
- Collaborate with senior engineers to design and implement targeting algorithms, ensuring accurate and efficient delivery of personalized ads based on user data, behaviors, and preferences
- Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code in Python, Java, or Go
- Participate in code reviews, ensuring adherence to best practices and contributing to a collaborative learning environment
- Assist in optimizing backend systems for scalability and performance under real-time traffic conditions
- Learn and contribute to the design of RESTful APIs that serve targeting-related data and decisions
- Troubleshoot and debug backend issues, assisting senior engineers with system optimizations and performance improvements
- Gain experience working with real-time systems, focusing on low-latency processing of targeting information for bidding
