Who you are
- 8+ years of product management experience required
- Startup experience required
- Experience with at least one of these areas: machine learning, geospatial applications, enterprise SAAS products, financial technology (fintech)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with diverse stakeholders
- Extensive experience with agile product development methodologies
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field; MBA or advanced degree is a plus

What the job involves
- As Group Product Manager, you will own our customer facing product and strategy.
- Product Strategy: Develop a comprehensive product strategy for our Carbon Marketplace, the tool that enterprise customers use to explore nature-based carbon projects and monitor their impact over time
- Feature Development: Lead end-to-end product development, from ideation to implementation, ensuring that new features meet user needs and adhere to industry best practices
- Customer Experience Enhancement: Elevate the customer experience by building visually stunning and engaging interfaces that captivate and engage users
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with engineering, data science, design, and business development teams to prioritize and execute product initiatives effectively
- Standards Leadership & Advocacy: Represent our organization within carbon market standards bodies, actively shaping new carbon credit issuance and verification protocols to ensure alignment with our innovative solutions
- Market Analysis: Conduct thorough market research to identify emerging trends, regulatory changes, and customer requirements in the carbon credit and carbon offset space
- Customer-Centric Design: Implement customer-centered design principles, incorporating user feedback to create intuitive and impactful product experiences
- Data Visualization Expertise: Utilize your data visualization skills to provide insightful, visually compelling ways to present data and metrics to our users
- Metrics and Analytics: Define and track key performance metrics to measure the success and impact of product features, utilizing data-driven insights to guide product decisions
- Stakeholder Management: Engage with internal and external stakeholders, including project partners and customers, to gather feedback and build strong relationships
- Product Evangelism: Act as a subject matter expert, representing Pachama's product offerings in industry events, conferences, and customer engagements
Our take
Carbon offset credits are fast becoming a popular way for businesses to lower their environmental impact, but a lack of reliable data for how these offsets really impact the world has undermined the credibility of the multi-million dollar offset market.
Pachama is looking to address the credibility crisis for reforestation and nature rebuilding offsets. Through a combination of machine learning with satellite and LiDAR imaging, the company supplies an independent, detailed method of carbon offset verification - ensuring businesses are investing in high-quality credits and reducing the chances of greenwashing.
With carbon emissions the hot topic of the day, it is no surprise that Pachama is not alone in the market. UK startup Sylvera is also making substantial headway in improving credibility in the voluntary carbon market for reforestation through remarkably similar methods, whilst Toucan Protocol is leveraging the trustless blockchain network to tackle the issue.
This competition is unlikely to prove a major problem though, as the market for offsetting solutions is expansive and growing. Pachama already boasts clients such as Shopify, Microsoft, and SoftBank, as well as a partnership with Latin American eCommerce giant MercadoLibre - which has invested a total $23.7M in projects to protect biodiversity in Latin America.
