Who you are

3+ years of professional hands-on software development experience
You are an expert at building web applications using HTML, CSS, and at least one JavaScript framework like React.js, AngularJS or Backbone.js
You have a deep understanding of usability issues in web applications
You have excellent oral and written communication
You have proven ability to thrive in a collaborative environment involving different stakeholders and subject matter experts

What the job involves

As part of the MMS User Experiences team, you will build and own the products, user-facing experiences, systems, and internal tools that Stripe users use on a daily basis to manage and use their Stripe balances
You will be working very closely with XFN partners to understand user needs, define product requirements, and design and build products
You will be working on top of the latest and greatest Stripe platforms as most of the products we build are zero-to-one, and collaborating with many different teams across Stripe
Create beautiful web surfaces and interactive dashboard experiences using technologies such as React, TypeScript, CSS and GraphQL
Collaborate with XFN partners to understand user needs, and come up with innovative solutions to address user pain points
Debug production issues across services and multiple levels of the stack with an eye towards improving maintainability over the long term
Improve engineering standards, tooling, and processes

Our take

Stripe, nowadays a FinTech giant, spent the first few years since its founding building up its payments business, which primarily consisted of providing an API to eCommerce businesses so that they could easily integrate a payment option in their apps or websites, where before there was none.

More recently, Stripe has started to accelerate its growth with a significantly larger range of financial services including cash advances and credit cards. They also plan to build incorporation services, fraud protection, and more, diversifying its revenue away from payments and differentiating itself from its competitors.

To further expand its position, the company is extending its services to countries with vast customer potential, including Brazil, Japan and India. It is also partnering with OpenAI, the company behind ChatGPT - a win-win collaboration that is monetising OpenAI’s flagship products and at the same time enhancing Stripe with GPT-4, as it moves forward with intentions to "build the payments foundation for tomorrow's AI economy."
