Role
Who you are
- A social media expert with experience in a social media role, abreast of the latest social media trends
- A self-starter, able to run our social media function
- A team player – able to work collaboratively with the brand team, PR team and our social media operations/customer care team
- A leader, able to define our social media strategy and motivate and inspire our social media manager
What the job involves
- Creating a social media platform strategy with clear content pillars to change perceptions of the TalkTalk brand, drive engagement and build positive relationships with consumers and prospects
- Create and own a proactive social media content calendar across all platforms including TikTok, X, Meta and LinkedIn
- Oversee the creation of socially native content by the Social media & content manager to drive reach and engagement organically, without the need for big media or production budgets
- Take opportunities to jump on the latest social media trends to drive engagement with the brand
- Oversee the development of content to engage our corporate audience on LinkedIn
- Develop a community management strategy and oversee implementation to drive positive engagements both within and outside our own social channels, bringing our brand personality and tone of voice to life
- Leadership – Motivate, inspire and energise the Social Media & Content Manager to develop social communications that will disrupt, cut through and drive consideration for TalkTalk

TalkTalk is a connectivity provider serving 4 million customers. Originally founded as a subsidiary of Carphone Warehouse, it was demerged as a standalone company in 2010. TalkTalk boasts a number of firsts in the industry; including launching free calls between its customers, providing a whole-home filtering service, and bringing WiFi 6 router technology to the UK.
In hopes of optimising the experience of its broadband customers, TalkTalk has partnered with DZS, which is a leader in access and optical edge infrastructure and cloud software solutions. TalkTalk will leverage the market-leading technologies of DZS, including DZS CloudCheck and Expresse Cloud EDGE, towards reducing call escalations, minimising equipment replacements and shortening call handling times.
In 2022, TalkTalk acquired rival SSE from Ovo Energy, in order to bolster its customer portfolio. Rumours of its own acquisition by Virgin Media O2 followed that same year, though the deal did not come to fruition. The company also agreed a partnership with Telecom Acquisitions, the manager of a number of broadband ISP brands and products, which includes TalkTalk securing the controlling stake in the company.
