Strong understanding of regulatory framework for deposit accounts (incl. BSA/AML/OFAC, GLBA, Reg E/DD, TISA)
Structured communication and problem-solving skills
Depth in data driven decision making, proficiency in excel, with some background in SQL
Bachelor's Degree - preferably in finance, economics, or engineering, or similar

What the job involves

We’re looking for a senior operations manager to lead our deposit product operations and oversee customer service. You will be working with engineering, compliance, and product.
You are hands-on, data driven, and a systems thinker. The Aven operations team is disciplined, efficient, and tenacious. We value resilience, hard work, and execution.
You will be working with other senior managers, engineering, product, the executive team, reporting to the head of origination operations
Working with a bank partner to set up and operate a deposit program
Experience in developing and managing procedures to handle deposit account onboarding
Experience in Reg E disputes, procedures, as well as complaints handling
Managing processes, dashboards using google sheets, snowflake, SQL, zapier, other operations tooling
Building new systems with engineering, product, credit to augment our industry leading systems
Work with our fraud operations manager to ensure compliance of BSA/AML/KYC/OFAC regulations
Work closely with engineers and data scientists to deliver system and product improvement

Our take

Founded in 2019, Aven is a credit card provider that uses home equity to provide users with low interests rates on their credit cards (known as HELOC). The company prides itself on minimalism and speed (without hindering quality) - with users able to be approved in as little as fifteen minutes for one of its cards.

With its mobile friendly, fast app, Aven is a bit of a phenomenon in the credit card space. It is the first credit card to be created with the unlocking of home equity, and its “without frills” approach makes what can be quite a daunting and overwhelming process seem far more approachable for its customers.

Aven has had multiple successful funding rounds since it was founded, enabling it to expand operations and pursue its mission. A 2024 Series D fundraise saw the company reach Unicorn status, with next steps including the goal of expanding to all 50 states by 2025 and exploring new market categories in the future.
