Who you are

You'll be a self-starter who thrives without heavy oversight, and takes projects from zero to done
This is a hands-on role for someone who gets energy from building the first version of something and finishing it — even through the messy middle
You'll crush this role if you have 3+ years of legal ops experience, in-house legal department background, hands-on contract management software experience, and a track record of driving cross-functional initiatives to completion

What the job involves

No bureaucracy, no bloat – We're a Slack-first, two-attorney team. You'll move fast, make real decisions, and skip the enterprise approval circus
Cross-functional from day one – You'll partner directly with Sales, Finance, HR, and IT/Security — not just support Legal
High-volume, high-variety contract work – Provider agreements, client contracts, vendor deals, and compliance programs across a network of court reporters, videographers, interpreters, and process servers
You own the stack – CLM evaluation, matter management, automation, renewals, budget tracking, playbooks. It's yours to build and run

Steno received $15 million in a 2024 Series B round and has since begun to roll out its gen-AI-powered Transcript Genius, a tool for transcript analysis, indicating a culture of continued innovation.
