Role
Who you are
- 5 to 10 years of experience in software engineering or system administration
- Strong proficiency in Go or Python for API development
- Hands-on experience with Packer and OS image maintenance
- Advanced knowledge of Linux system administration
- Experience with Containers (Docker, Kubernetes) and PostgreSQL
- Mastery of CI/CD pipelines and artifact security
- Familiarity with Protobuf and microservices architecture
- Versatility: Capable of switching between system, dev, and automation tasks
- Autonomy: High degree of initiative in a "to-be-built" environment
- Problem-solving: Eager to explore and structure new, complex technical topics
- Collaborative: Ability to work effectively in a transverse, multi-team project
- Adaptability: Open to learning and evolving with the project's needs
What the job involves
- Our growth is driving us to strengthen our Compute team to build and launch our new Marketplace project
- Your mission will be to act as a key contributor to the Marketplace project on the Compute side in order to provide our users and publishers with a robust ecosystem of OS images and packaged applications
- We work in a collaborative and international environment where the diversity of Scalers, combined with a spirit of sharing, helps bring new projects to life every day, advancing our ambitions together
- You will be part of a team currently being structured to bootstrap this ambitious project. You will work in a highly transverse environment, collaborating closely with Product Management (Marie Debard) and Core Engineering teams to turn this vision into a reality

- Design and develop new features for the Marketplace platform
- Maintain and optimize APIs to ensure a seamless user experience
- Build and maintain tooling for OS image creation and system packaging
- Create and manage artifacts (applications packaged within images)
- Automate the manufacturing process for OS images and containers
- Support and guide external publishers in the creation of their own artifacts
- Ensure the security and integrity of all Marketplace artifacts (CI/CD, scanning)
- Participate in the architectural structuring of new, high-growth technical subjects
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align engineering efforts with product goals
- Take ownership of "uncharted" technical territories to drive innovation
