Who you are

B.S., or M.S. in Computer Science or similar technical field of study (or equivalent practical experience)
5+ years of software engineering experience
Proficient in distributed micro-services development, specifically with Python or Java
Experience with databases, SQL, NoSQL, OLAP, and/or data lake architectures
Ability to own complex projects involving partners across multiple team
Proven ability to collaborate with and mentor other engineers
A rapid learner with robust analytical and problem-solving abilities
Interest in building data pipelines and in working with Big-data

What the job involves

We are currently seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our Reference Data team
The reference data team at Addepar is responsible to manage the data reconciliation and curation process for market data providers to build a single source of truth and provide alignment across public and alternative investment data products for the client to manage their investment portfolio
As an engineer on the team you will partner with product teams at Addepar to understand their business needs
You’ll contribute to increasingly challenging engineering projects with the ultimate goal of enabling solutions and effective use of the data platform
Our engineering team primarily works with PySpark, Python, AWS, Terraform, Java, and Kubernetes
We use Agile methodologies to deliver on business outcomes
Partner with multi-functional teams to design, develop, and deploy scalable data solutions that meet business requirements
Collaborate closely with our engineering leads to define and implement our platform architecture to meet Addepar’s growth and scalability needs
Evaluate and drive strategic business and technology decisions for the company and for customers
Be a technical thought leader in multiple areas who educates and shares best practices. Your contributions deliver strategic and prescriptive guidance

Investment advisers require speed, clarity and flexibility when managing client portfolios. Addepar is a wealth management software platform created with these requirements in mind. The platform aggregates portfolio, market, and client data in one place, allowing financial professionals to analyze and visualize the data they need.

Addepar currently tracks more than $4 trillion of assets with circa 800 clients including individual advisers, family offices, and large institutions such as AllianceBernstein, Bartlett Wealth Management, and Morgan Stanley.
