Role
Who you are
- We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to join our team as the Head of Hardware Architecture
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field; advanced degree preferred
- Extensive experience (10+ years) in hardware architecture design and development, preferably in the AI/ML domain
- Proven track record of leading successful hardware architecture projects from concept to production
- Strong expertise in CPU, GPU, and accelerator architectures, including familiarity with emerging technologies such as neuromorphic computing and quantum computing
- Proficiency in hardware description languages (e.g., Verilog, VHDL) and simulation tools (e.g., ModelSim, VCS)
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across diverse teams
- Demonstrated strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on driving innovation and achieving results
What the job involves
- The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in leading the design and development of innovative hardware architectures tailored for AI applications
- They will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to drive technological advancements and ensure our products meet the highest standards of performance, scalability, and reliability
- Lead the development of next-generation hardware architectures for AI computing, encompassing CPU, GPU, and accelerator designs
- Define and drive the overall hardware strategy, aligning with business objectives and market demands
- Manage a team of hardware architects and engineers, providing mentorship, guidance, and technical leadership
- Collaborate with software, firmware, and system engineering teams to ensure seamless integration of hardware components
- Conduct thorough analysis and evaluation of architectural trade-offs, performance metrics, and system-level optimizations
- Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends, incorporating innovative solutions into hardware designs
- Drive innovation and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product competitiveness and market positioning

Our take
With a vision to contribute to the AI revolution, FlexAI delivers a layer of software intelligence, abstraction and orchestration into the AI compute stack. By rearchitecting existing architecture, it is creating accessible, universal AI compute to support the future of machine intelligence.
The idea is to combat the existing challenges with running AI workloads across diverse hardware. By doing this, FlexAI will enable AI developers to leverage a broader range of computing power without needing to modify their code.
FlexAI only came out of stealth in 2024, so we've yet to see much of what it has to offer, but its proposition has attracted a hefty seed investment. This will support the company as it moves forwards with the launch of its first product and towards its ultimate goal to empower AI acceleration.
